  1. @mattp I am running Joel's settings. I practiced keeping that trailing arm down and tight. It made me feel a lot more stable off the second wake and there was definitely a lot more width! Also I thought about staying open for longer on my onside which allowed me to get a lot more angle.

@skijay thanks. My head was kinda full in this mornings sets with all the other stuff but I will definitely try standing taller across the wakes next time I am at the lake.

@wish I will definitely try to turn in for the gates by engaging with my hips next time I am out. I have tried it before but sort of forgot not long after as I was working on other stuff at the time. I remember it feeling really good when I got it right and it set me up for the whole pass. At the moment the turn in looks and feels awkward.

By simply trying to keep the handle in and down I went just inside 6 ball at 28 twice this morning

  2. @richarddoane make them tighter?

@mattp thanks for editing it. I admit that it's a pretty bad video in giving info with the sun behind etc. I'll try to find another coming back the other way into the sun and put it on. Thanks for the advice.

    Edit:

Here's a 36 15off vid. I'm embarrassed to upload this as it was a pretty ugly pass! But I guess it'll give you a lot to give advice on...

  3. Hey all,

I have recently got a trick ski (quantum with Wiley) and have ridden it for a few sets but I am struggling with what to do next. I have managed a few side slides (been backwards once I think) and am jumping wake to wake at 14m 28kmph. What do I do now? (There are no other trick skiers near us) I have no real idea of the correct body position etc. and can't find any coaching on the internet. Any tips!? Drills etc etc... Thanks!

  4. Have skied a whole set with the hydro gate in trick/jump soon after we got our 196 so wasn't totally used to the wake. I was mentally screaming at myself at the end of each pass to not be so stupid and soften my knees and hold the edge!
  5. Forgot to mention this earlier but in the initial stages of hull design on the ETNZ boat they needed something to pull a scale model (still very big I would imagine) through the water at a very consistent speed and in a straight line. They did a bit of research and figured that the boats that three event waterskiers use can do this. Anyway they phoned up the only NZ dealer and asked for a boat. They were loaned a 2008 SN 196 with ZO. Apparently it worked really well for them and they did all the testing in the dead of night so that nobody could see what they were up to! Anyway we were in the market for a boat and ended up getting this one! Nice to know that you own a piece of (even if its tiny) America's Cup history. And yes it's red and black! (ETNZ colours)
  6. @ejj no lawsuit - NZ is taking it on the chin (don't think they have the patience or the money). The lawsuit would have been about Oracle's use of stored energy to power it which is a no no. ETNZ didn't install the computer because they didn't have the time for testing is my understanding.
