I ended up with the Radar X-Vest. I took a few hard hits on the ribs and was very glad to have purchased this particular vest. In fact, I have a new one ordered for the upcoming season.

I wish I had access to getting my ski flex tested from time to time. I have been told in the past that a ski is really worn out after 4 years of skiing. Everyone has an opinion and I don't know what is correct, but that is what I have been going off of.

I am looking for a very good vest that will endure hard falls when I unfortunately have them. I really don't want something that is going to be so thin that I break ribs on a hard spill. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks...

@Chef23 That is a very cool feature that I didn't realize Wakeye has. I typically don't have a passenger, so the camera coming on automatically would come in very handy. I have been impressed by the filming quality done by @Horton

@Shakeski That sounds like a great purchase. Do you even have to purchase WakeEye or anything else like it with the 170 degree range? That would be awesome to not have to deal with that extra expense.

Thanks @Chef23. I have been worried about the fact that the GoPro doesn't zoom.

I am wondering what people think about the GoPro's and how well it videos at the longer line lengths. If I am running 28' off, is GoPro worth the investment and what is the best apparatus to put on my pylon with using a shock tube.

You will LOVE your Custom Handle from Master Line! They are the best and have great customer service. Make sure you look into what diameter to order. That can really help with the happiness you have in your investment. -Have Fun!

@Skoot1123‌ How do you measure the fuel when it isn't a straight drop from the fill spot to the tank? I do agree that the best fuel gauge for boating is using a stick and marking it, but in this case, you can't get the stick in there.

@MarcusBrown‌ Thank you for the insight on a different way to see the gas tank. That is very helpful! I realize that it took around two years for this MasterCraft ProStar to be developed. I will say that I have probably skied behind every inboard competition ski boat brand dating back to my buddies 1978 ProStar 190. I will say that the developers of MasterCraft and @MarcusBrown‌ have built and designed the best boat I have ever skied behind and driven. Now I was only born in 1975, but I have had the luxury of skiing behind every generation of MasterCraft boats with the exception of the 1968 year. @MarcusBrown‌ this is absolutely the best boat made for skiing and driving since the 1995-1996 years of the ProStar 190 s. In fact, it is much better by a long shot and better than any other brand out to date! The tracking is incredible and the wake is flat as a pancake! This boat is a BEAST! I do wish that for such a premium price for a boat that gauges would work semi properly. This seems like such an easy technical solution for such an advanced slalom boat.

@scotchipman‌ Yes, you can lift the Starboard side latch and see the gas tank. The problem with that is, it is very opaque and you can only see the top of the tank. It does make me wonder if MC was aware there was an issue since @MarcusBrown‌ was showing this at the boat show.

@rico That is totally embarrassing to happen in a tournament! I agree that MC needs to step their game on this issue. Running out of gas is just poor in a tournament. I have found so far with this boat that being able to check how much gas is in the tank is near impossible. MC (and other boats) have had gas gauge issues for years, but I would have thought it would have been fixed with this new ProStar. It starting to sound like many people are having the same problems. Does anyone know what MC is doing to fix this under warranty? I hate to waste a trip to the dealer for something that ultimately will not get fixed.

Has anyone had bad luck with the new ProStar's fuel gauges? I have had what I believe is a full tank of gas in the boat, yet it only showed a half a tank. When I had a friend in the boat, depending on where he stood in the boat, the gauge would show 3/4 full on the tank? I am having issues getting this issue fixed. If anyone has experienced the same problem or knows how to fix it, suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated. I lost a ski run this past weekend due to running out of gas. That was a major bummer.

This whole driver thing is just like a fraternity. They do put a safety "test", but to be honest, if you truly want to become a sanctioned driver, you have to go through "hell week" to get in the fraternity. You just have to know the right people, get arrogant skiers that have never seen you drive to even be able to practice to get rated. The whole system is flawed and one day, the AWSA will have a very difficult time time finding great tournament drivers.

@Dacon62 I typically ski at the same level you do and changed my setting from B2 to A2 and really like it much better. I am 175 and 6 feet tall if that helps. Good luck with the cold water!

@MattP if I can go and purchase an extremely nice car, say a BMW, Lexus or Porsche, for the same price as a boat, then I believe that the boat is extremely overpriced. Also, a 20 year note is absolutely unheard of. At the boat show in Nashville, the ProStar was a tad over $68K. For 10% down the payment for 20 years would have a payment of $408 if you didn't have the cash. To me, all that is outrageous when you can only use it for such a relatively short time each year. Heck, ski's are outrageous as well, but we are getting used to not blinking an eye at paying $1400 for a blank. I really think the boating industry and ski developers are pricing themselves out of business. Same can be said for all equipment in the sport if we "ballers" really want half way decent equipment.

I have skied behind both and I would definitely get the 205 over the Sunsetter.

Has anyone heard how many 2014 Pro Star's that Master Craft is building? I am wondering how they will depreciate since the price tag is so high? My fear is we are losing potential skiers due to over priced boats. This is definitely not just MC, but Nautique and Malibu as well. I honestly don't know too much about the Centurion Carbon Pro's price, but I do know that it does ski very well.

Why so long? Are they investigating the FSU Winston case?

That is totally insane. Her two ball was crazy as well, but seemed to smooth it out. She is a great skier. I can't compare, but wish I could pull that off.
