  1. I am NOT trying to nitpick but you can’t really talk Perfect Pass settings unless you define what PP system you have. A lot of people say Perfect Pass and don’t specify Stargazer or Classic (non-Stargazer).

If you have Stargazer without Z-box the only settings you have are three skier weight options (Light, Normal, Heavyweight).* (**)

    1. PP Classic with mechanical throttle carb or MPI. RPM based (ZO letters do not exist).

    2. PP Classic with DBW. RPM based (ZO letters do not exist).

    3. PP Stargazer mechanical throttle. GPS based (ZO letters do not exist).

    4. PP Stargazer with DBW. GPS based (ZO letters do not exist).

    5. PP Stargazer & Z BOX with mechanical throttle. System has letters and #’ like ZO.

    6. PP Stargazer & Z BOX with DBW. System has letters and #’ like ZO.

*Unless you go into background settings, which is not something you will do for every skier.

** Yes, you can put any Stargazer system into classic mode.

    Carry on,

  2. @Tinkerinmatt nothing against HO bindings, I had a Venom for years. The Radar Vector is wayyyyyyy more comfortable than Venom or Animal. Recreation or tournament skier everyone should have what is comfortable for them.

The only place I know in this area that stocks bindings Peace Love and Waterskiing, email Corey (h2oskijunkie at gmail . com). Tell him you are just getting into tournament skiing and you might get a discount.

As @skialex said, order the Venom parts from Wiley's pro shop and keep it as a spare.

  3. Update for the Stargazer users. I got an email from Gary at Perfect Pass that said he used an idea I had emailed him a year ago. The change is a minor tweak to how the speed fine tune works in practice mode.

Now in rev 9.2s there is no longer two speed set points (speed and a fine tune). In the new version when you adjust the fine tune it changes the main speed set point by +\- 0.1 mph.

In 9.0 if you ski at 33mph (32.3 + 0.7) then bump up to 34 the fine tune will still be at 0.7. I found this slightly annoying to constantly be changing two settings.

Gary said, the only other changes are screen tweaks and no actual control gain values were changed. He sent me a free upgrade for my small contribution. I installed it but have not skied it yet.

    Edit:

    1. forgot to say this was released a few months ago.

    2. Also it’s confusing because he called the update 9.12 but the sticker on the update chip said 9.2s.

  4. +1 upgrade.

Ski time is to valuable to waste messing with background settings if you don’t have to. With 9.0 or higher the amount of time you spent tweaking settings is greatly reduced. Call or email and they will drastically reduced the upgrade price.
