  1. Many people mix and match binding brands and types (I see Reflex hardshell front bindings and rubber Wiley rear bindings frequently). Make sure each is a proper fit and will release in a crash as you expect - together. Removing/changing bindings frequently is not an issue for the inserts, but I would recommend avoiding power tools to do so and watch how much you tighten the screws (as @dave2ball said).
  2. I think anything out there is a pre-Production example. So, I would expect only those working with the Adams on development to have one.
  3. We had a previous site that was that same distance and used a 6 buoy with no issues. I would do 6 buoy. You could set it up to curve your start in on the end at the bottom of the photo and maybe slide the course down that way a bit to give you more space for the end at the top of the photo. You could actually curve the start in on both ends (see red lines), but the top end would be a right turn for the boat versus a more natural left turn that you would take on the bottom. Is there any reason you didn't put the course to the right side of the lake (the other side of the peninsula at the bottom)? It looks like you have more length there (see yellow line).
  4. Yep. I'd like all my missed openers deleted. What are the chances they did that?
  5. They should pick you up after a fall and take you back to the original starting direction, if you have indicated before your round 2 set that you are selecting the Turn and Burn option. It is if you are starting fresh off the dock, yes. Your round 2 score is over and in the books. You are starting round 3 with a new opening pass. I would choose Turn and Burn if you missed a pass that you normally make and want a second shot at it right away without waiting for next round. I have selected my regular opener, last made pass, and the missed pass I was attempting. It depends on your confidence level of the pass you want and the score you just received for round 2.
  6. @Horton, I believe that the credit card people have strict requirements for vendors to collect and process payments through them. PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance specifies how a vendor can handle your credit card number and if they are allowed to store it locally. Most vendors do not store it, due to the PCI auditing that occurs and the requirements their data centers and network infrastructure must meet. That said, it would be good for USA Water Ski to issue statements on the data it maintains and how it may have been affected or exposed during this incident.
  7. They previously had birthdates. I know they had mine and my family’s.
  8. Also, if it is a hacking incident, the timing might indicate someone with knowledge of AWSA and perhaps a grudge. This occurred right after Nationals, when all the COA calculations for next year will occur and there could also possibly be World Ranking implications from the L scores achieved at Nationals. They picked a prime time for this incident.
  9. @JackQ, I had the same questions. And, if this was a hacking incident, who are they hiring to do their security reviews and penetration testing? For the database, a product like Delphix Continuous Data (database virtualization) maintains snapshots that can be provisioned into database copies, should a specific version of the database be needed for recovery - and the provisioning time for one of these is often faster than a restore (like less than 15 mins for a multiple TB database). I'm sure there are others as well that provide immutable snapshot management.
  10. @MarkTimm, you should be able to create the tournament manually in WSTIMS and add skiers manually. In fact, if you are using the same computer that scored previous tournaments and haven't deleted the old scoring data, skiers that attended your previous tournaments will be contained in a local database on the computer. You'll be able to search to add those directly, though you will want to verify/update their age to get the correct division to select when registering them in your tournament. I would bet SurePath will work. The one issue may be doing Official Assignments, including drivers. But, I think you can get around that by having the drivers input their name into the rover. The SurePath servers are supposed to be separate from USA Water Ski computers. @Jtim3032 should be able to answer this question. Create a test tournament in WSTIMS manually, add some skiers, and try to score a round. You can probably test the SurePath, too, and verify it will connect. I created a test tournament this morning and had errors accessing the Official Work Assignments feature. That feature is how you add drivers to groups so their name appears in the dropdown when scoring. That is why the drivers would need to input their name on the rover. I could access the Official Work Record feature to record credits, though.
  11. @MDB1056, you have a point. My trailer does not do many in/out cycles per year. Maybe 10. There was a stretch of a few years where it was 30 or more per season, but not now. In fact, if the manufacturer had just through-bolted the originals, I may not have needed to replace these - at least not now. But, the lags were apparently shifting and getting stressed to the point they chewed up the wood and fell out. The softness of the old wood is a slight problem, but likely would not have been as much of an issue than what was caused by the lags. i like the laminated bunk idea. Maybe next time, if I’m still around then.
  12. There was a rumored prototype that was supposed to be at our Goode Demo Day back in June, but they decided it wasn’t quite ready. So, it sounds like something is in the works. Not sure when it might be announced.
  13. @RichardDoane (and others), Do you have a recommendation on the self-retracting ratchet strap transom tie downs? Some I am seeing are Rhino USA, BoatBuckle, Fulton, Reese. I see some complaints about mounting hardware, but that is less of a concern (I'll just get better stuff). I am more interested in durability and construction quality of the ratchet/retractor.
  14. I think they meant 500 - 600, which is actually -100, so I guess it is in decline.
  15. @BlueSki, I found that carpet yesterday and ordered it. Thanks for the feedback.
  16. @Drago, I looked at the Janka hardness, which does indicate it can be dented easily. But, I didn't think it was an indicator of strength, which is what I was concerned about. They also say it is rot-resistant and less prone to cracking/splitting than pine. I guess I am wondering if some have used it structurally, which would be a similar application to bunks.
  17. @RichardDoane (and others), what do you think of cedar as a bunk option versus douglas fir or pressure treated? I am not having much luck locating the douglas fir, but can get cedar.
  18. @Taperflex, she is easily inside the right hand ball and really about exactly where you'd want to be going through. No problem. You should be able to stop the video and catch it.
  19. @RichardDoane, how do you tighten the nuts on the stove bolts without spinning them? I would think the countersink won't necessarily insure that the bolt head and hex portion beneath will bite into the wood enough to be held in place once some torque is applied to the lower nuts. Or, are you using something with a slotted head? Also, is it the pressure treating that causes the cracks and splits or is it the grade of wood (with more knots, etc.) that contributes to that? That is why I asked if #2 grade was good enough. I was thinking that #1 or select grade might be needed for better integrity. I don't think douglas fir is prevalent in our neck of the woods, so I'm not sure I can get it. It seems to be more available out West. I'm not sure I can get anything above #2 grade, either. @dave2ball, I shouldn't have to drill or re-tap anything. I'll just need to remove the old lags, many of which are already loosening.
  20. I need to replace my trailer bunks. I've lost several bolts, several more are loose, and the wood seemed soft when I attempted a temporary fix to install some lag bolts into a new location on the bunk. I have 4 bunks that are 2"x6"x8' and two bunks that are 2"x6"x4'. Is #2 pressure treated deck wood a good enough material or are there other preferred wood options? Are there sources for this (it's a Boatmate trailer)? I don't think I want to go with the plastic or composite bunk, due to the potential for the boat to slide off too easily and unexpectedly. I'm surprised at the condition of the bunks, as the trailer is only 14 years old and spends a lot of time in the garage. I'll probably get some bunk carpeting from the local boat dealer and I'll be looking for stainless steel lag bolts, as I believe the corrosion on the original bolts may have been a contributing factor to their loosening.
  21. 1. It's better than mine by far. Almost looks like the initiation of a Trick ski turn in. 2. The line is always tight, so that is huge. 3. She turns in at the moment she is about to drop below the boat speed - also huge. 4. The body position seems to initiate how the finish of an onside turn would be (with counter rotation and swinging the hips through), which would result in an even better angle and body position to start the pull across the wake. 5. Very balanced on the ski and in control.
  22. @Horton, I would think you would be all over the action of skier 31 getting a 5.
  23. @Horton, there are now published schedules per event, per lake, per day, with skier running orders on www.waterskiresults.com. This is a shot of the Saturday Main Lake schedule.
  24. I’m not sure when they will be released, but you should be able to see them at www.waterskiresults.com. When you go to the Nationals item, there will be a “Publish Results” link. That should have the running orders in PDF form when they are ready.
  25. One of my ski buddies, who is a promo driver, bought one after I sent him the original video last year. He is very happy with how easy and effective it is, especially refueling during tournaments. I think it might be better than the shaker hose as well.
