  1. did many searches...cannot locate anyone that may have done this? Was looking at a 343 to upgrade, but a couple things stuck out. One, the 409 has a very similar footprint, minimal difference. Two, lots of hoohaa about it actually being lighter than the 343; and three, ponies. thanks for any input.
  2. impeller. change it. takes 20-30 minutes tops. $20 at napa and a guy should have 2-3 spares in his tool box. an impeller can go every year depending on usage. is amazing such a simple cheap little part can be a show stopper.
  3. in other words.....make me an offer. i'll probably take it.....
  4. New in spring of 2013. Good condition. Has interlock on it for power plate set up. If interested, send me a PM with a reasonable offer. Will send pics upon request.
  5. Even black over all white would be a nice combo. Even all white with small colored stripes.
  6. That boat is a beaute. Classic color combo, really like the white on top and bottom. Ah- the trunk boats were 02? I'm not a fan of the square rear end, although I'm sure the space is handy. Just not my style. Rockdog, no offense taken. I've had my 97 for 15 years. Flirting with making her new again. New gel coat, carpet, upholstery. The whole bang.
  7. color combo. maybe take out the blue and red stripe. go white and purple.
  8. i have a 97 with white a white hull, purple main stripe, and a sky blue stripe above the purple on the side. i've been thinking if i repainted that boat, go all white hull with the single purple stripe, leave the rest of the boat white and replace the ski nautique letters on the side. simple, classic.
  9. i think age of them helps too. in theory, a newer boat (same model) should be higher value. between those years there wasn't much difference from a 97 to an 03 or 04, so why not save a few thousand and go with a well kept 97 versus a well kept 02? therefore, less expensive boat with same performance is more highly sought after. on another note with boat graphics, it's unfortunate it's rarely done correctly from the factory. all brands. the neon green or orange stuff, metalflake, i just don't understand that. especially when you're forking over 6 figures plus for some of these rides. a guy drops 135k on a new G, and it looks like a flippin circus? maybe i'm the outcast on that but the timeless classic looks/graphics are the ones that hold value and have better appeal. my buddy restored his 77 nautique. all white with simple red "nautique" on the side. that's a home run.
  10. the 97-99's are some of the most highly sought after boats to this day due to the whole package- hull design, motor, bubble butt styling and graphics. the 97-99 graphics are virtually identical and are a classic timeless look. nautique didn't repeat them until 2006? the 2000 era boats did have early years with the same styling and bubble rear end, but just didn't look nearly as nice. plus, the significantly increased prices of new boats is a large contributor to a strong used market. i priced out a new cb200 the way i wanted it and it's a clean C-note.
  11. Chubb. They are the most expensive but will insure anything.
  12. I'll check those hydrogen helmets out. Thanks fellas
  13. Are many guys wearing helmets while skiing? I picked up a liquid force wake board helmet thinking the idea is sound now that I'm old enough to have heard about enough guys getting injured and a few rough ones myself. Not sure about it as it appears when looking at it that a guy could get injured by the actual helmet if he hit hard enough. Might be counter productive. Thoughts anyone?
  14. Wouldn't mind mixing in something for dad while there.
  15. in regards to tuner guys, i thought the 450 was a super charged engine, but realize it's not? was it at one time? the huge gains would come from a SC or turbo that a guy could reflash with a new map.
  16. good info, thanks. aside from choppin some balls, we also like to mess around on the holidays with the families and pull up pyramids and junk like that. my 97 gt40 can only get up 4 guys on two skis. we also like to pull as many long line footers, and the gt 40 can only pull two guys at the correct speeds. a couple of us are 200+ lb fellas...which is part of it too. and, when buying new...why not dial it in with the options you want?
  17. Does the 450sc weigh the same as the 409? A better question is does it weigh any more than the 409? and thus is wake size affected?
  18. Depends on the company too. I have Chubb and they jack rates frequently. But they're the best and they know it so if you want their ins you play their game.
  19. ^^^ thanks aswinter05. didn't know they had that, will give'r a shot. thanks all for your feedback.
  20. hi all. been reading everything i can on here regarding this ski. i currently have a 9800 SL w/ hard shells. i ski at 34 mph, and PB is 2 @ 35' off. i am 6'2" 220lbs. can't decide which size to go with? 66" or 66.75"? i am aware of the demo program, and maybe that's ultimately what i need to do and just try it out, but i wouldn't mind avoiding all of that if possible and stick the landing on the first shot. opinions?
