  1. @OldboyII - I tend to agree with you there.

    Perhaps some folks can comment on their experiences and/or near misses with handle guards and without.

    Incidentally, I tried the MOB guard last week. It's very well made, no complaints there. But I repeatedly missed the handle over a 2 set period.

    Next I'm going to try trimming it down to allow more space for my paws to reach the handle and not bump the edge of the guard.

  2. My fin...going around 3-ball at 35.

    My bud Moyerism says my shorts were at my knees when I managed to crawl in the pickup boat. I don't believe it, but then again I don't remember much after the crash.

    The Mobile causeway location, some tournament down there. Guess that's not a lake but at least it is fresh water.

  3. In my experience or opinion:

    the XTR is a deeper riding ski that is 'stickier'. So no surprise it's not as fast or free but turns are a no-brainer and it won't blow out.

    The Revo rides higher and is easier from side to side. You could say its faster. The turns may require more technique or attention to detail to be optimal.

    Haven't ridden a 9970 yet, but I want to.

  4. It is a mandate that irks me as well. (for the same reasons aforementioned by Jody and others)

    But;

    a) the core goal of the 'training' I cannot argue with. It is imperative we keep our Sport as clean as possible, and utilizing the tools available to help achieve that, is a good thing IMO.

    b) I have loved (tournament) slalom skiing since the 70's. I've strived to be better and compete on a higher level for so many years. I also look forward to continuing that quest. I'm not ready to quit because of this 'speed bump'. I use that term because I freakin HATE speed bumps, but they don't stop me from using the road I want to travel.
