P Pass Only working 1 way

My PP Stargazer works fine going 1 way thru the course. We drop at each end.

The other way it beeps once, but won't beep again and start timer @ entrance gates.

It seems to be holding speed ok, and it feels ok skiing.

Magnet is still there at that  gate.

Can magnets go bad? Anyone ever have this? Any hints?

Especially if there is only a driver in the boat (boat running slightly out of level).  My SG false triggers going over turn around bumps so I have to be observent to make sure it's reset  before getting to the 55's.  As Brent said that magnet may be low; try raising it a bit.

Magnets do get weak. When ours get covered in algee/moss growth we have to replace them. Should be strong enough to be sensed 18" under the surface. This depth is just below the prop. Or could just be too low like stated below.

put it in "magnet test" mode and run through the course both ways, that'll tell you if there's a difference in strength

If you have two pickups change them and see if it works the other way.  If so then one is bad...
