WIskier
I'm looking into getting a portable slalom course that I will put in during the day then will take out later in the same day. I was wondering if I need a permit to put it in the water, even though it will only be in for not even a whole day?(this is in Wisconsin) Thanks. MCskiFreak
Just call the local DNR post and ask, it is required in Michigan to have a permit before putting any buoys on a public lake.
Baller 6balls Posted June 20, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 20, 2011 We used to vacation in WI and set up a portable. We were told if temporary structure (not overnight), we needed no permit. Having said that, it's presence irritated some crusty old fisherman who were lifetime residents. They didn't like our fancy boat or us putting buoys on their lake. We still put it up, but moved it to different location.
Baller rq0013 Posted June 20, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 20, 2011 No you dont need a permit for 1 day use as long as it comes out before dusk. I put a course out sometimes on Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc. I have been known to keep it in a few days in the fall when traffic is light.
