mrpreuss
I think it is his unsurpassed strength to weight ratio and his strength/power in the transition/pre-release with 2 hands on the handle.

Baller Boody Posted June 23, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 23, 2011 Patience - I can't believe how long he can wait at the end of the turn and still run the pass. Light on the line - He doesn't overpull and cause excess speed, even if he's late. Edge Change - He also said in an interview with WSM that he changes edges in the same spot no matter how late he is. Administrators Horton Posted June 23, 2011 Administrators Share Posted June 23, 2011 You have to understand that Brian "Wally" Dawson taught him to ski. Brian just never told him that 41 was hard. Baller skibug Posted June 23, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 23, 2011 Technique, finesse, God given ability, a will to succeed, and youthful obliviousness to the magnitude of the feat. It is his norm and expectation to run it deep.

mopowpow
Nate is AWESOME! I grew up eating homegrown Iowa popcorn, that has to be better than Indiana... What's my excuse? I have a D3...
Baller ForrestGump Posted June 23, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 23, 2011 He's not afraid to turn WAY downcourse if need be. And when he does take it downcourse, he doesn't panick. Other than that, he does what every other elite skier does......turn and lean 6 times a pass and doesn't let go.
briandawsonskis
It actually is the Indiana "red" super crunchy, popcorn. Ward tried it and ran 39' easy the next day with me driving after a couple "dirty helens" and struggling to keep straight. It also could be that he is awesome and has been training really hard since he was 8. 23 39's in a row takes a man. Great job Nate!
Baller Razorskier1 Posted June 23, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 23, 2011 Not sure how he does it, but it's great to have another young guy coming up through the ranks with such unbelievable determination and skiing ability -- our sport needs a regular injection of quality youth. Baller Roger Posted June 24, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 24, 2011 When he was here at Okeeheelee, he was 155lbs and on a 68" ski. He has both a 67 and 68, don't know which he was riding in this one. Both are longer than typical for his weight...

boarditup
Seeing Nate ski, meeting him and talking to him a bit, leads me to believe that he is very calm, mentally. Great ability to focus. Probably the quietest body positioning I've seen. He does not move around much. Great leveraged position. Probably the other skiers similar to him are Jeff Rodgers, Jodi Fisher, and Ty Oppenlander.
