I know it's still the summer here with lots of good ski days left, but it's time to start thinking about the long Canadian winter and how to avoid as much of it as possible.

I'm looking for suggestions for a 1 week ski trip around the end of March. It has to be great skiing but also family friendly.

I'm thinking Seth Stisher in SC, Sunset Ranch in CA. Anywhere in Orlanda (but no more Disney, please).

Any others?

The end of March has some great skiing here in Telluride, the only problem is, it is of the frozen variety. We are family friendly, and I'd be happy to show you around.

If you are set on waterskiing, March can be unpredictable in the US temperaure and wind wise, but you can't go wrong with Costa Rica or Acapulco. Costa Rica is more family friendly if the family are non skiers.

Hi Marco,

My brother and sister inlaw live in Montrose and want us to come and ski in November with out kids. What is the snow like in Telluride in that timeframe?

I looked at the average temperature in NC in March. A bit chilly. Not sure when their season starts. But, I do have a good wetsuit. Florida is better for weather but will be there in Dec. I'll look into Travers. Thanks.

Nor Cal can be great in March or suck. You never really know. These last two years we been having a slow start to good ski weather. Normally though there's a good chance March is skiable even with out wet suit.

@Up_North - Snow skiing in Telluride in Nov is pretty marginal. I'd wait till February. PM me if you want more info.

@Laz- Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread...

Brent - we are a club only with no accomodation, but nearer the time contact me through the club website and we can put you intouch with local accommodation and other ski clubs around NZ.

Waterski Costa Rico has been my favorite winter destination. Lots to do for skiers and non-skiers. Well more for skiers.

we live on the west coast so straight down into mexico or farther south would be easiest but not sure where to go for ski school or slalom course type sking.
