espnman
Received a 2012 Senate C today w/ 2011 Vector boots (feather frames). After mounting the rear binding I noticed there was space between the middle of the binding and the ski (not sitting flush). Its not just a sliver either; it's about 1/8 inch at its highest. It is attached by four screws and I'm sure it will flex down when skiing, but I'm still concerned. Anyone else experience this? Guess this is a vote for the aluminum plates... Baller Kelvin Posted October 5, 2012 Baller Share Posted October 5, 2012 I use a rear vector with the aluminum plate and it does the same thing. I just ski with it and haven't had any problems.
Baller Wayne Posted October 6, 2012 Baller Share Posted October 6, 2012 Are you using the little aluminum re-enforcement plate? Also check rear screw length. I'm not sure it will fix the issue but my aluminum rear plate did the same thing because the rear screws were bottoming out in the threaded inserts before clamping the binding plate to the ski. The plate was almost touching at the screws but I had the same effect you had under the boot. After shortening the screws to the proper length the plate flattened out when I finally got it clamped tight to the ski.
