Baller JAS Posted February 28, 2013 Baller Posted February 28, 2013 Seemed like people were moving in different directions with binding location and fin settings last year. Just interested in where everyone ended up. I'm skiing a 67.5 220 lbs
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted February 28, 2013 Baller Posted February 28, 2013 I had a S2 last year, 67.5" and 225 lbs...Settings that worked for me..6.750 Jaws 6.820 Tips 2.50 and .750 DFT...8 degree wing...Powershell 5 Bindings @ 30 1/8".
Baller andjules Posted February 28, 2013 Baller Posted February 28, 2013 Also looking for advice - just had my first run on a new-to-me 66.5 S2 - I'm 5'7", 175lbs. It was my first run of the off season, and my first time on ZO, but my first impression was that the onside turn wasn't finishing as tight as I'd like (of course I was going from an older, narrower, shorter, deeper riding ski, so the S2 also felt delightfully fast). Anyhow, set bindings to 29.5 but thinking I'll try them one hole back, and maybe try the back foot an extra hole back (RS-1s on a sequence plate). Thoughts?
Baller_ Wish Posted February 28, 2013 Baller_ Posted February 28, 2013 6.90 2.50 .730 Forget what my boots are at but I think hardshells change things.

Baller Chef23 Posted March 1, 2013 Baller Posted March 1, 2013 @andjules if it was your first run on a new ski I might give it a couple of more sets before moving things much off of stock unless people found that the stock bindings should be back. I skied 3 days and 8 sets on an S2 last year at straight stock settings and it worked well for me right off the dock. If I could have taken the one I was skiing on with me I would have bought it.
Administrators Horton Posted March 1, 2013 Administrators Posted March 1, 2013 even though I ended up setting my personal best ever on the S2 it took me a number of rides to get comfortable on it. For sure not love at first ride. In the end I busted my tournament best by 3 1/2 balls at the Texas BigDawg last year. Baller jhughes Posted March 1, 2013 Baller Posted March 1, 2013 +1 on what @horton said about love-at-first-ride. I hated my first ride on the S2 but by the 3rd set I was killing it on that ski- no adjustments made to this day other than boots a little back.
Baller Chef23 Posted March 1, 2013 Baller Posted March 1, 2013 I ran right down the rope in my first set on the S2 and may even have tied a practice PB on it. I did not feel the same on my Goode Mid. The first pass I fell around 1 ball.
