Baller ScarletArrow Posted March 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2013 While the topic is trending toward CP...I drove a 2013 on Tuesday. Very nice, they have made some modifications to improve the tracking. This boat should start picking up market share IMHO. OK...back on topic. Nick Sullivan
That 5.0 from Ford could be a sweet engine for a boat and I would love to see a Ford back in a PCM configuration again.
Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted March 23, 2013 Baller Share Posted March 23, 2013 The last I/O I owned before I got my first inboard had a 5.0 Ford engine in it (mated to an OMC outdrive). That boat would RUN. Of course it was a more efficient hull design (20' 3" deep-V). Didn't the later 90's MC SportStar's offer a 5.0 as an optional engine choice? Baller 6balls Posted March 23, 2013 Baller Share Posted March 23, 2013 There's plenty of juice available from a 5.0 or so. My HP/torque in the car is 430/380, and the Ford Mustang has used an approx 5 liter for years with lots of power/torque.
Baller ForrestGump Posted March 23, 2013 Baller Share Posted March 23, 2013 Ed, the current 5.0 has nothing in common with the 5.0 you're talking about. Even in truck tune(which is typically close to the marine tune) the Coyote 5.0 makes 366hp/380ftlb torque. Now the question is whether it'll fit under the engine covers.
