Why are people complaining about the hole shot with a 6L? I’ve heard this about other 200s.

Any idea on fall date? I’m missing this one by one weekend.

But the SNOB is the smallest of all the OB models. So small they called it a “playpen”. It’s good for wet life jackets and nothing else. My first boy was a 99 SNOB. I enjoyed it, but would not buy it again.

I would have posted this back in 2012ish, but it seems to have been purged/missing (maybe because of the advert for 15off). I think it's still relevant for today.

Since Horton is fond of bumping old threads, I submit my entry. Kyle is still skiing and (I believe) is now a doctor.

This pull was with a 2015 MC Prostar with over 2,000 hours on it. Last year we did it with a 2012 SN 200. In both instances you need absolute full throttle. You can hear and feel the prop churn, and the pylon - let's just say, "oh my!" We were less successful last year - re: about half the kids were on slalom skis and, of course, they were younger and not as experienced. It's an operation, finding enough skis, ropes and handles and transporting it all through the mountains for this one ride.

As an update to the OP, I purchased bags from leadwake.com and they were shipped to my house. I also found that Action Watersports (Orlando MC dealer) has them in stock. I bought 3 bags since I have occasion when I’m driving for my wife solo at a lower speed and need the balance. The bags appear to be well made and have a nice strap for carrying. They are small enough in size and weight (#50) to move around and make adjustments. They are soft sided so they shouldn’t harm the interior of the boat. They cost ~$65/bag. I recommend them. They should be a BOS advertiser as I can’t imagine how many #50 bags one would need to affect the wake on a surf barge. Seems more practical for a ski boat.

How are they different / better than the ML handles of the same style? Opening seems so wide - dangerous for an arm or head to go through.

There's a lot more houses on Drawdy now. Almost unrecognizable in the video.

Probably cheaper to sponsor younger and less established names. If one athlete pops and makes it big the ROI is big.

I agree with the importance of vision and keeping eyes up. This is different than keeping your head still. Early in my ski career (in the middle of WC slalom theory) I was given advice to look at the back of the boat while crossing the wake and I'm convinced that it, along with other bad concepts, set me back years. I could never do it consistently, and when I did it never seemed to help. Eventually, it devolved into generally looking at "nothing" or just the wake pattern I was about to cross. Like Horton, I'm skiing my best when I'm able to pick up the next buoy at the apex or "pre-apex" (i.e., as early as possible) of the current buoy. It's usually the difference between a good offside turn or a bad one.

No. I’m not saying that. I don’t ski 28off. I qualified my statement with speed and line length.

As the worlds greatest 15off skier and connoisseur of wakes from 30mph to 34/22 the “preposterously bad” statement is well… preposterously bad. I’ve owned 7 SN and just bought a MC. Overall the MC is a better boat, no question. I still prefer the SN wake - re: the foamy wake is smaller, softer and easier to edge through than the crisp edges and wider table of the MC.

Perhaps a better opening question might be, “What improvements has Malibu made to the Txi hull over the past 15 years?” thereby steering away from the dead horse of “who has the best wake?” Otherwise, if you’re able to walk away from your ski club and your ski buddies solely because you don’t like the Malibu option then you must be blessed enough to have other skiing options or not find it essential.

It's basically a 3 question survey - how much money do you make, are you going to buy a new boat, where do you ski? They're trying to figure how many boats to make, how much to charge you based on income, and where the supply is needed (based on zip codes and lake types).

Not enough that’s for sure. Trying to find / buy a new or used boat is a real challenge.
