Oops! scratched and gouged fin

While on vacation in WV I brought my HO CoX SL and skied the Potomac River. At one point the river was much shallower than I thought, I put my foot (with ski) down and felt the fin hit the bottom. My heart sank and my blood pressured rose, I pulled it off and looked, I scratched the red paint and took a VERY small gouge at the very edge on the bottom. Is it shot or will it affect the ski's performance?

You're fine. Knock off any rough edges and go.

The small gouge on the bottom could create more drag and induce more tip pressure.

Test and report back.

One of the guys I ski with hit a magnet in the course with his old D3 Custom. Probably took out 0.060" or more on the front of his fin. He filed it to a smooth transition and has been skiing on it for years. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that but he still ski's into 35 off regularly so it must not be affecting him that much.
