GroovyGrant
Before I commence to some Ozarks engineering...has anyone solved the problem of the insole in Strada bindings folding up just ahead of the molded plastic under the heel area? Every time I take my feet out the insole folds up and I have to pull the liners out of the boots to smooth out the insole. Not a big deal, just kind of a PIA--especially when you forget to do it until you're trying to get the ski on next time. Thanks in advance for any ingenious ideas! Baller Chef23 Posted August 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2013 I agree it is a PIA. I haven't figured out what I am going to do yet. I may put my old Strada foot bed in or a Superfeet footbed.
Baller alex38 Posted August 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2013 I'm 86ing mine, but I hurt my Achilles so I'm minimizing what I'm doing bindingwise.
ctsmith
Same problem here. I never discover it until I've got my gloves on and have to take them off to get it all worked out. Real pain! I need the ingenious idea too!
Baller jedgell Posted August 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2013 I used some Gorilla duct tape and put a few pcs on the sole to hold down the loose material n the toe. It's been there since April, still holding up. I used regular duct tape last summer and had to redo it every month.
Baller alex38 Posted August 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2013 @Chef23, @GroovyGrant,, @ctsmith, I had my liners heat molded at a ski shop with the footbeds in them, pretty sure that helped mine stay put, mine were very stiff too, but I also suspect all my molding, and tightening contributed to my injury, not caused, just didn't help. Baller SkiJay Posted August 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2013 Superfeet, or better yet, Zapz insoles in the Strada shells, outside of the liner is the answer. They never fall out, give excellent support, and release just as well. The stock insoles are not good for much.
tbrenchley
I just heat molded mine without the insoles and I never use them...pretty sure that's the best way to get rid of the problem.
Baller A_B Posted August 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2013 I put super feet in there, but thought they weren't as slippery on the bottom of the boot coming out, so I tried spraying silicone on the bottom of the boots and they worked much better. The radar liners were way too short and slop around. The super feet insole offers more arch support and are a little thicker so I don't have to crank the laces down as much.
