  1. Behind every good man is a good woman, and Karen more than holds up her end the deal. Keith, be sure to tell her I said that. :)
  2. 15 offer here running 32 mph working on 34. Cant tell you how many times i've heard skiep say not to try to turn like its 38. Hear the same thing about gates. Being RFF with a decent on side stack but terrible off side I have a habit of trying to run the pass at 1 and come into it way hot and getting on the tail.
  3. Sounds like good rivalries brewing if you ask me. Lessons learned (hopefully), put it in the rear view mirror, and lets get it on!
  4. Sean epitomizes respect and manners. The fact that he can ski is a bonus. Cant get any better or more generous than Keith and his wife Karen. Happy for all of them.
  5. If Stradas, as mentioned, he must bear down on the top laces. I come out of my Stradas just watching him crash.
  6. Thats probably why the guy didn't ask any question. He was just the middle man.
  7. Recently I too sold a ski on SIA. The very first day it was listed I had two guys wanting the ski. One was Asian from Los Angeles and the other was close by in Alabama. I sold it to the guy in Alabama but before doing so I spoke to the Asian from Los Angeles on the phone. He was ready to make a PayPal transfer then and there. I felt very uneasy about it but I've sold a bunch of stuff online to strangers and I've found that if they give you a phone number and you actually have a verbal conversation they are good to go. Still I felt it was very odd. The guy never asked any questions or anything, just "I'll take it". Looks like some guys here have done business with him or someone related and they're good to go. Out of curiosity I wonder whats going on with an Asian market for high end skis in Los Angeles.

  9. What size PVC pipe is it? Do you ever have to pull the course? 1.5" schedule 40 would solve the problem in the future.
  10. I think there's a Seal somewhere too, and not the old man (sorry Jody). Though the squirrel stole the show.
  11. Keith, aren't you driving the boat???
  12. Albritton votes that the tube is more challenging, and he's done both in the last several weeks. Of course there were some extenuating circumstances.......
  13. Horton, bear with me on this........
  14. What is easier? Pulling Open skiers at 41 off in a tournament or pulling a recreational tube at less than 10 MPH? This is not a trick question.
  15. I had a Goode Nano Mid and bought the new Strada based Senate C several weeks ago. Sold the Goode. The Senate C is awesome for what you describe. The Goode Mid is still a fire breathing beast capable of world records and not as forgiving because it doesn't carry as much width to the tail. The Senate C carries the width to the tail and gives it more lift, especially at the slower speeds, and allows you to recover if your weight should move back. Horton's review basically limits its effectiveness to 32 off if I remember correctly. Two totally different skis. If I made the mistake of getting on the tail with the Goode, I couldn't recover. On the Goode my position was constantly broke out of the turn and into the pull. Its not designed for the slower speeds and broken form (and if our form was better we wouldn't be skiing at slower speeds). That rarely happens with the Senate C.
  16. Todd, I've heard that said before, but one look at my 2004 SN removes any doubt as to its overall effectiveness.
  17. I've spent a bunch of money on Babes, Hot Sauce, etc. Then based on some advice I tried 25% Eagle One Spray Wax As-U-Dry (cheap), 25% white vinegar, and 50% distilled water. Nothing has worked better than this concoction and you can mix it in bulk at a very low cost. The 2004 SN got one hand wax per year Meguiars Flagship (a breeze to apply) and the Eagle One mix after each use. The gelcoat still looks better than a new boat. Proof is in the pudding.
  18. The Sergeant is real serious about a strong body position (REAL SERIOUS)! If I've skied 100 passes this year, I've heard it 200 times! 15 off or 38 off doesn't matter. A break in position does not go unnoticed! (one of each represented here) The shotgun slung over his shoulder aint for ducks! Thin skin and anti gun need not apply!
  19. AB, the odd part about it is that they apparently aren't misaligned according to Radar. There is too many reference marks. They apparently set them up this way intentionally.
  20. I am certainly not qualified to answer questions (15 off and ski two days a week if lucky) but I'll give you facts. Like you, I've skied at the factory Strada boot "toed in" setting for a while. I "straightened" the front boot Saturday and ran a PB off the dock, the first set with the front straight. The rest of the day was just as good and WAY more consistent than ever. I literally looked (and felt) like a different skier. Without question mine need to be straight. A seasoned vet got in a pair for the first time several weeks ago. After a ride or two he straightened the front boot and ball count went up dramatically. I should have straightened mine then. Not only does Radar not set them straight, they give you an arrow at the front and index marks at the bottom of the plate to confirm their factory "toed in" setting. I would love to hear some input from those in the know.
  21. Thanks Blake, but we are not really that young. Sean and Kelley aren't too bad either. (grin)
  22. I don't think The Sergeant is playing, but he's always more than generous to visitors.
