  1. George, Keith was telling me about your hang up story the other day. Scary. Which sorta leads to another question. What are the merits of building a float out of drums with a winch lift for positioning the buoys, as opposed to moving them around by hand on the bottom?
  2. Cost wise, anchors are less than a portable, but a WHOLE lot more work. I've currently got a rope course on the lake I ski and will use it as a template for an anchored course. I've measured the depth at every buoy and have buoy lines cut to appropriate length and ready to roll (using the fingertrap method with sub buoy). The depth at most buoys is 18' - 20'. Anchors are ready. Albritton and Mattox are in charge of setting anchors (much appreciated!). Waiting on everyone's schedule to line up, may not happen before the cold sets in. Otherwise, we'll get it this coming spring. The anchors are a little intimidating. 200+ lbs of dead weight is no joke.
  3. My 2004 with 305 hours is always for sale.
  4. Food for thought. If you ever intend to sell it your market will be limited to basically those who don't need financing.
  5. From a 15 off perspective, early in the learning curve I fell, and I fell a lot. At the time I had RTP. Almost always the rear foot came out and the front foot stayed in. Seems like my shin was a magnet for the flailing ski. Ask Seal how many times I'd get in the boat with blood gushing down my leg. He kept several towels handy when I was tagging along, he always complained about the first time I got blood all in his boat. Not to mention the potential for tweaking an ankle or knee. I went to double Stradas and the problem went away. I've fallen MANY times in double Stradas. In every case its been both in or both out without incident. I rarely fall anymore and can see why seasoned skiers do not consider this aspect but I have the scars to remind me that I'll never go with the RTP again.
  6. $70K sans the 6.2. That makes me feel a lot better. Maybe I'll buy two.
  7. I bet that was a wild ride. Good thing they went over the pier vs under.
  8. Keith is as good as they come. Kelly has got it and to say she is competitive is an understatement. Good to see them getting publicity. Kelly's father, Wes, logs more hours behind the wheel than I care to think about. Lake 38 is a good situation all the way around thanks to Keith's extreme generosity. Its nice to see fruits of the labor.
  9. GregDavis, you said your boat is NOT GT40. What is it?
  10. I realize the OP is asking about a 94 Prostar but how does a '97 Prostar 190 compare to a '97 Nautique 196?
  11. They knew they had to put extra bait on the hook for you :)
  12. Shane, if CC acknowledged that it wasn't as safe might that open them up to liability? Just saying I would expect that response regardless.
  13. I'm in the process of laying out a course on a big lake and would like to back it into a finger. What's a good approach distance in front of the 55's? 500'?
  14. Same problem here. I never discover it until I've got my gloves on and have to take them off to get it all worked out. Real pain! I need the ingenious idea too!
  15. @ShaneH as skihart said, please elaborate on the 200 hook and the 4 molds.
  16. I'll bet (hope) the trailer won't be an afterthought as it was with the early 200's. MC seems to have knocked it out of the park with this boat and I don't imagine they'll drop the ball on the trailer as Nautique did. I just picked up a 2010 200 and the only significant wear on the boat is from the darn trailer, and it aint pretty.
  17. Am I the only softy that often utilizes a grab handle on the transom? I dig the teak platform (hint, hint, Nautique) Haven't warmed up to the superficial picklefork and hips. Love the tidy interior.
  18. 2004 196 SG As of Friday 8/9, a 2010 SN 200 CB 6.0. Hurry up Seal!
  19. Can't afford a hybrid. But when did price ever become a factor? Maybe a hybrid....
  20. Closed or open bow? Probably both I guess. Just please keep the closed bow.
  21. I'm not a big NASCAR fan but I have watched it more, a lot more, (at least the last 50 laps) since they fixed the issue of races finishing under caution (some credit must also be given to a DVR). This change was solely for entertainment value and not for safety, as the "overtime" not only provides for an exciting finish but also a big wreck is highly likely. College football games use to end in a tie as well. But don't mess with any slalom rules!
