Baller Skihack Posted September 18, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2013 Has anyone talked with Paul lately? Haven't heard anything from him since I ordered a boot last week. Was a little concerned as most times stuff goes out pretty quick when ordered with Paul.
Chuck_Dickey
I heard he's working away during the week and following up on FM on Fridays. I just bought a new liner and he sent it right out. I received it in about a week.

Nick Sullivan
Yep James will get back to ya. I'm loving my FM setup, I swear its the best I have used so far. I just wish I could get some different buckles, something similar to the ones Goode uses.
Baller Waternut Posted September 18, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2013 I ordered a liner and it took quite a while. It was over a week and I emailed them to ask what was up because the status still showed processing. He emailed me back really quickly explaining that the color I ordered had low stock and they were trying to find it in the warehouse. Don't know if that really was the case or not but either way....they were at least quick to answer my email so hit them up if you're concerned. Baller skibug Posted September 18, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2013 @Sully, there are a lot of places online to find those parts. A lot of inline skate and hockey skate shops carry an assortment of buckles. Not sure if any of the following do....but you get my drift. For instance: erolling.com, aggressivemall.com or http://www.ratchetingbuckles.com/ratchet-buckles-ladder-straps/
Baller MattP Posted September 18, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2013 Reflex sells the metal buckles on their website.
swerveit
@sully . change the buckles ASAP! I wish I had done it a year ago! the plastic ratchet system will give different fit every time you ski, to loose, to tight.... and eventually the spring will stick. Goode, hmmm >> there's better ones out there. My pall and other top skiers are contently snapping them, the adjustable bar is to long and gets placed under allot of pressure. I went to my local snow ski shop that does repairs, I was more than happy to buy shiny new ones but the guy comes upstairs with a bucket of setups not needed. 6 pack of carona and I got Ali Soloman buckles that are solid! 15 minutes of screwing and the new setup is good to go... only wish I did it sooner. the only problem is you need long bars and teeth as once the liner goes in the boot it has to cover quit a gap. if you can get to somewhere that has them id advise that. (FYI I found most to short) I didn't put the plastic "tongue" thing back on as the new buckles are pretty wide and there's tons of padding. feet are snug as a bug! Baller Brewski Posted September 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2013 @Sully I got a whole box of different buckles and straps from the top buckle maker in Italy. What are you looking for. (how many) some are right and left foot specific so rff or lff? They are nothing like the Goode though but free is better than goode anyday right? Nick Sullivan
Holly smokes, you guys are good. I'll take my boots to one of our local pro shops who does both water and snow and see if he can help me out. Thanks a bunch for the heads up on all the ways of getting some good buckles. I'm on it now.
swerveit
look for buckles that are hook and loop. there's some really good snowboard ones that I nearly got that works on a ratchet system. issue being is you will need to tip ex where to ratchet them into. or your going to have the inconsistency issue. the hook system you know every time its exactly the same. good luck let me know how you get on
Baller BraceMaker Posted September 19, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2013 @swerveit - hook and loop is traditionally VELCRO. The other option is to figure out where you like your ratchet buckles to tighten to and file off the teeth so they stop where you want.
Baller Skihack Posted September 21, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted September 21, 2013 Now, I am getting concerned. Numerous emails, james@jageng.com doesn't work and no replies. Order has been in printing status since day of order two weeks ago. I am thinking now, should have went with a Reflex
Chuck_Dickey
@skimech Send FM a cancelation notice, stop payment on your purchase and go Reflex. You can buy direct or Miami Ski Nautique, Mapple sells the and a number of others.
Baller Skihack Posted September 24, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted September 24, 2013 Boot has been shipped, hopefully a large and not the medium size. I sent an email asking for clarification on the sizes. Hopefully, he read those and didn't send me a boot too small. Really don't want to get into shipping stuff back into Canada. That would be a deal breaker for me.
Baller OKSkier Posted April 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted April 15, 2014 @skimech How have the FM boots been for you? Thinking about changing my boot set up. How has FM been taking care of your questions set up etc?
Baller Skihack Posted April 15, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted April 15, 2014 My boot is working well. My daughter is using one that releases through the cuff. She has taken some nasty falls and they release every time.
Baller BraceMaker Posted April 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted April 15, 2014 @OKSkier - they have seasonal staffing/hours - figure they are in Canada, they probably have a fairly short warm season.
