  1. I tried a quick lesson myself with Freddie just the other day. He responded very timely and gave me good feedback, with 3 things to work on. He also drew some angles on the screen for me which was helpful too. I responded to his video lesson, and he followed up same day. He pointed out something big, that no one had pointed out before, in my new skiing journey. I'm looking forward to trying to fix that issue on my next set. The video coaching is a great for anyone, especially if you don't have better skiers than you in your local club.
  2. I have a new 2024 Ski 200 on a new Boatmate trailer and ran into the issue. I put a little tiny hair fracture on the nose from hitting the roller. Got it fixed for cheap. I called boatmate about it with no solution. I basically have to float the boat over the trailer with someone standing at the roller to catch me from making contact if the trailer isn't low enough in the water. Then once hooked up, the boat driver has to keep the boat center holding on to one of the pylons, while the boat and trailer come out of the water slowly.
  3. I skied at 15off 30mph Iphone 14 Pro Rear camera at 1.0x Lens Normal 4k30 Latest version of Ski-Doc on pylon
  4. I uploaded this to YouTube from this afternoon even though it was very overcast and rainy here. Really digging it over wakeye. Test Video One question: Will 4k at 24fps ever be an option in the future? Only reason I ask is I don't want to cut down video quality, but I would like to cut down file sizes to make them quicker to send over text message or airdrop.
  5. Just bought it and so so glad you had a fix for wakeye. I hated being limited at 720 quality!
  6. The guy in the video makes a great point about getting a lot more features compared to boats 10-20 years ago. I don't see a leg to stand on when blaming boat manufactures, because the product will sell or it won't. The free market decides. Judging by the financials of the publicly traded boat manufactures, Mastercraft is running at a 10% margin and Malibu is at a 5% margin. I don't see anything out of line there... The never ending money printer in Washington, and the ability to finance a big toy for over a decade are much more suspect to the cause of price increases.
  7. Appreciate the tips and I did listen to the Spraymaker episode. It opened my eyes to how wide I need to get. I'm pretty sure when I pull out, I line up with the left side buoys and obviously get sucked back in before committing to the lean in. Here's to hoping that helps the body position!
  8. New skier at 15 off. 220lbs riding a 2024 69" Radar Senate Pro I can run 26.7mph consistently, 28.6mph more than half the time(when conditions are good), and stabbing at 30.5mph here and there. I am struggling coming around and out of 1 ball in a good position and it's a battle from then on. I can obviously tell: Hips fall back, back leg bent more than front, shoulders falling forward, etc. Problem is when I only focus on these things and try to fix them... I end up on the tail 100% of the time and it leads to me eating it every time. What should I be trying to focus on when initiating the turn? Thinking about keeping hips up and tall isn't working for me so far, and I hate to just keep 'hacking away'.
  9. You're not alone, I know I have a harder time getting up in a hardshell
  10. I weigh 215-220 and just bought a 2024 Senate Pro 69" after trying one out in Florida. Wow, what an upgrade from a 69" Union! The ski feels much more nimble but in a way more stable going through the wakes, if that makes sense? A vapor sounds cool, but this will hold me over for a very long time. I don't see myself skiing in the 34-36mph range for quite some time, if ever...
  11. I’m 6ft 215lbs and Travis at Boarding School put me on a 69” Senate Pro for almost 2 days. It’s a great ski! Might have to look into one for myself
  12. I just got back from Boarding School with Travis for 5 days (2 sets per day) Had a great experience and learned a lot from Travis. His setup is cool because he has 2 lakes facing different directions just in case there are issues with the wind. His phone number is on his website and you can shoot him a text to see if he can work you in. Tell him Byron sent you if you end up going!
  13. The reason wake boats are crushing it vs ski boats is: 1. Wake boarding and surfing take very little coaching/technique to be 'good' at compared to 3 event 2. Wake boats carry more people/gear, ride better in bigger water, and offer more fun amenities for partying 3. No need for a course or experienced driver 4. Keeping up with the Joneses at the party coves Costs of boats is affecting everyone equally
  14. As a complete newbie to the sport this year, I can attest to Horton's 'stand tall' statement. I spent 2-3 months looking like I was trying to squat 450lbs behind the boat from my high school football days. Now I am actually getting complements on how good I look behind the boat even though I'm missing buoys and crashing a lot, at the moment. I have been told a million times and understood what hips up, arms straight, and shoulders back all meant... but video playback never lies. I felt like I was doing all of those things, but I'm not. I would rate my stack maybe a 2 out of 10. Me at Bennetts getting lessons from Hanna: IMG_1723.heic Now my line of thinking when approaching the course is: 1. Stand tall 2. Arms straight 3. Handle on the hip and lean (no pull) Hopefully like her some day: IMG_1724.heic
  15. It sounds like the hover craft is ridiculously easy to get up on. Maybe I'll look into something slightly more challenging that might act more like a traditional slalom ski.
