Baller rockdog Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 Fantastic effort by @joelhowley today to get the win at the Australian Open. My hope was he would step up this season and he couldn't have started it better. We'll done Joel!! Looks like Detrick may threaten for wins this season in the US also.

Baller ozski Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 Yeah Joel seems to have the X factor required to get the job done at the top level, a fantastic effort. And Emma won the women's and set a new Australian record on the Quest.
Baller Edbrazil Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 I think this is the link to the final results: http://www.stoneypark.com.au/app/webroot/js/tiny_mce/plugins/filemanager/files/AO14_PRO_DEFope_slalom_results.pdf Noted no Nate, but still a very good field participating. Don't think that I ever remember a 4-way tie runoff for first place. Although, back in the early Tour days, there would typically be a cluster of women around 2 @ 38, at least early rounds.
Baller Edbrazil Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 Noting the comment above by @ozski: The AUS Women SL record would be Karina Nowlan's 1 @ 41. See: https://assets.imgstg.com/assets/console/document/documents/AustRecordsAsT30April2013.pdf Nice to see Emma making a comeback. Maybe the comment refers to records actually performed in Australia, or site records?
Baller bishop8950 Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 Detrick is my ski buddy and its great to see him do that well through the rounds in a pro event. Keep it up BFD!!
Baller schafer Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 @texas I'm not sure if she has been skiing this year. She coached in Calgary for a few days last year and told me she hadn't skied all year due to an injury.
Baller ozski Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 Sorry - over 35 womens record in Australia.
Baller Edbrazil Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 Looking to see Emma and many other "oldies" participating at Jack's in October at the 35+ Worlds. In Slalom, ?Jump, and maybe overall. She was quite a young phenomenon when I worked Moomba 20+ years back. Has the unique honor of holding the Open Jump record for all of 2 min 55 sec, back at the Malibu Open 2002. 55.3m before Elena went 56.6. But maybe her most amazing accomplishment was running a downwind 38 off at the Worlds in the US in 2003, on the way to a win. Shame that she got injured, maybe at the 2005 Malibu Open.
Baller Texas6 Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 @Schafer @OB - that makes sense - always thought of her as a contender, and hadn't heard of the injury - good to hear she's coming back for Malibu
Baller Chris Rossi Posted March 2, 2014 Baller Posted March 2, 2014 Congrats to @joelhowley for the win. Love seeing Emma skiing well too! Looking forward to see who makes it through at Moomba.
