Skiing/Jobs/Relocation

I wrote a post a year ago looking for some career and job advise as I was stepping into some huge changes in my life. I had recently graduated college, was starting to obtain significant responsibilities at work, and was engaged with the potential that my now wife was going to get accepted into physicians assistant school someplace else in the country. Sure enough the day after our honeymoon she found out she had been accepted into a program 7.5 hours away in west Tennessee and started January 2014. As this year has continued on I have been making the trip from Indiana to see her every other weekend and the talks of moving to Tennessee have began to increase as we really love what the state and area has to offer. Over the last couple months I have been doing some research about the area and trying to get an idea on the markets and different locations. For the last 1.5 years I have been working for large MEP contractor as an electrical project manger/estimator but am very unfamiliar with the TN construction market. I am assuming the Nashville area is going to be my best opportunity for employment but wanted to get some of your thoughts.

The other obvious issue is skiing availability. Part of the discussion for moving south is just that, more skiing. Not to mention the hiking, biking, camping and hunting. We are currently on a public lake and I ski with a couple of guys on the river in town but water is obviously extremely important to us. We want to have easy access to the water, which I am learning isn't to hard to do in TN, to be close to a ski club or even have a course of my own at some point.

So I guess to simplify I am curious to know what the construction market or facilities management operations are and/or potential leads or opportunities in specific areas. Also with that, what or where are some of the ski clubs and rules/restrictions of individual courses on the rivers.

Thanks All!
