Nick in ski

Today I noticed a small nick on the side of my Strada. It's just a little nick in the carbon fiber about 2 millimeters across. Is this something to be concerned about or am I just being paranoid?

@bowty‌ From an iPhone click the "attach a file" like below the text input box. Click "choose file" then " choose existing" or "take photo" select it and it will load. Then click on the thumbnail and click "insert" then "post comment"

Is it something that will affect the ski?

Do you think it will improve the ski? I like a fairly rough texture for the finish (wallboard texture?).

 

Last year I drilled screws into the edge of my ski. Maybe I could feel a bit from that in extra drag. But that was something sticking out to disrupt the flow. I could not feel the holes when I pulled the screws out. Most of my skis have minor defects that are far more significant than that chip and are well below my feel threshold.

 

A dab of JB Weld should take care of it. No, on second thought, the ski is ruined. Better send it to me to dispose of it.

It doesn't look bad to me at all and doesn't look as though it got down into the carbon laminate. Carbon fiber is black. You could either do nothing at all or as Eric says put a dab of JB Weld on it. Be careful though, it would be real easy to make it look worse.
