Chris Taylor
Its been almost 8 yrs since I skied last, however I thought I would share and get some critique from the begining before I start getting back into the course hopefully next week. Open water skiing 30mph @15 off. vid1293.photobucket.com/albums/b599/cjtpilot/video/IMG_1975_zps0c908c6d.mp4
Chris Taylor
Ok since this is a good example of what not to do!!! Can someone give me suggestions on my wake crossing and errors in body position so I maintain edge through the wake.
Baller gregy Posted August 6, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 6, 2014 You want to focus on getting the hips forward in a more stack position and keeping the ski on edge into the wakes but not past them. Or I should say dont pull past the second wake. Start working your way out to get wider as you get more comfortable. A stacked position is the fundamental thing to running a course and getting better.
Chris Taylor
Thanks, I was reading yesterday that for 15 and 22 off to pull past 2nd wake so that I am very early and wide. However by doing that wouldn't I struggle to break that habit once I start into 28?
Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted August 6, 2014 Supporting Member Share Posted August 6, 2014 In my opinion, no. I think it's pretty trivial to learn to turn sooner. What's hard is to learn how to build enough cross-course speed so that turning sooner actually works, instead of just sending you inside the buoy. Learn how to build speed and angle behind the boat and everything else will come from that.
