supersonicus
Hey Gang, Looks like he is skiing on a rebadged XTW? Seems like this ski would be way to wide to ski at the level he skis at. Whats the concept behind the XTW? instagram.com/p/tFyJXYzYc7/ Thanks, Matt
Baller_ Wish Posted October 3, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted October 3, 2014 You sure that's not his half n half ski with a different top sheet?
Baller wtrskior Posted October 3, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 3, 2014 He has usually ridden a wide body Goode, Tgas edition. Doubt he's on an off the shelf model these days.
supersonicus
What are the principals behind a wide ride for an elite skier? Seems like a wide ride would have to much buoyancy for such high speeds.
Baller_ Wish Posted October 3, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted October 3, 2014 It is half wide and half mid/traditional fused together. Unless he very recently changed. No idea to any advantage.
supersonicus
Thats interesting. Love to hear the principals behind that. Anybody?
Baller GOODESkier Posted October 3, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 3, 2014 Seems like it works fairly well. I would be OK with his scores........
Baller SkiJay Posted October 3, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 3, 2014 @supersonicus I had this conversation with Thomas and if I recall correctly, his half and half has is a Wide-Ride on the off-side of his ski and something like a 9600 on his on-side. Then he mounts his bindings over on the standard side so there is extra ski on the off-side of his bindings. This all makes it easy for him to engage tip and turn on his off-side. Baller JoeMac Posted October 3, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 3, 2014 I am on one of his skis. I think SkiJay is correct. It is a cool ski. Takes a bit to get used to. If you like a wide ride off side turn, but want something better for variable conditions, this is your ski.
gator1
@SkiJay He just needs a gator tail. Other pros are testing it now.

gator1
@supersonicus Check thread "holy grail of fin modification". You probably are stepping in something. @MattP I don't have permission to disclose that. But regardless of good or bad reports, I'll post them when I get them.
