  1. We’ve been pumping water out. The hose you see running across the lake has been sitting in our creek keeping it dry. Obviously the weather had other plans! So the plan is to build a temporary dam so they can finish up the dig. But in the mean time, the water in the lake is staying. Thank goodness we got the anchors in, surveyed and recessed. I really don’t see wind playing much of a factor. Hopefully I’m right!
  2. What “flat as a pancake and no apparent watershed.” Looks like after a night of rain.
  3. We’ve got a freshwater spring that flows in along with 250 acres that runs off into a creek that feeds the lake.
  4. We are exactly 20 minutes east of where the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals play. Trees have us super excited about the protection! We did flood records and are clear of the flood plane. Lake runs NW/SE.
  5. Total material we are taking out is in the 140,000-150,000 CY range. We are paying. Cannot say enough good thinks about our team at Kissick Construction.
  6. My parents have that information and have been keeping a record of the receipts. Not sure where we are at currently. If you watched the video, the massive piles of dirt have enough value that they are going to significantly lower the dig cost. It’s definitely overkill but I’ve always been a fan of how deeper lakes ski.
  7. Heck yeah man! We aren’t a one directional lake haha! Total length is going to be 2164’ and about 200-205’ wide in the course. We made sure that wherever you are on top of a ski, you have 8’ of water underneath you. You ain’t kidding. From the Corp of engineers, to the city, the railroad, environmental agencies, we’ve dealt with them. Hopefully it absolutely rocks! We’ve had so many people provide information who have built these things and it’s all coming together.
  8. @Mateo_Vargas I wouldn’t suggest jumping in at this time!
  9. 3 years later…closing in on the dream. https://youtu.be/X6l2VA5wI6Q?si=pwNEG2wXni-vQxtq
  10. I think the manufacturers are more interested in partnering with entities that reach the broader market. By that, I mean people with ski schools.
  11. 8 buoy for sure. First set will confuse the heck out of most people but after that, it’s great.
  12. What distance is appropriate for mini course buoys?
  13. @Wish I’ll refrain from getting political but if you impact an area deemed as a wetland, it’s a nice hefty price tag. If my memory is correct, it’s like the price of a cash prize tournament entry fee for every foot of wetland impacted.
