Baller mwetskier Posted November 14, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 14, 2014 at 15.00 minutes you can see the front fin on that centurian is linked to the rudder system in kind of a reverse way and counter steers when the rudder is turned. thats a new on on me and makes me wonder how it worked and why they abandoned it. Baller_ Wish Posted November 14, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted November 14, 2014 That front steering can be seen in the link below. Scroll to 1990. There is a photo and explanation of it. Guessing it was abandoned as there are better, safer and cheaper ways to accomplish steering characteristics through hull design. http://www.centurionboats.com/history/
Baller_ Wish Posted November 14, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted November 14, 2014 I had the pleasure of meeting and skiing with Steve and Phil out west when I was in high school. Being a long time snow skier and a fan of watching the sport, it was a dream come true. Very very nice guys. And thanks to my mom for being bold enough to walk right up to them in a Pizza shop and asking for a photo with them. They were gracious enough to do that as well as skiing with us on a couple runs the next day. Will never forget that. I'll have to ask my mom to dig up the picture. I may have it but not sure. Baller Chef23 Posted November 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 17, 2014 @rfa I meant pretty good water skiers. They were obviously world class snow skiers.
Baller rfa Posted November 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 17, 2014 Thanks for clarifying...lol...how's mini chef?
Baller Chef23 Posted November 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 17, 2014 @rfa he is doing better. He is off the narcotics and went to school today there is some pain in the leg but not too much. He isn't in a great spot mentally right now. His hockey season is gone and he has a pile of school work to catch up with after missing 4 days over the last week and a half. He doesn't seem bad on the surface but I can tell he is bummed/frustrated. I am sure Christopher can relate plus some.
Baller jimbrake Posted November 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 17, 2014 @wish - cool pic. I met the Mahre's a couple of years before that when they came into the ski shop I worked at. We only talked about water skiing. Where are your mom's glasses?
Baller_ Wish Posted November 17, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted November 17, 2014 @jimbrake I know right.!!... I started to laugh out loud when I realized that all our glasses were the same. I'm gonna bank money that inside that vest pocket of hers are some gold framed classics.
Baller RAWSki Posted November 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 17, 2014 That was fun too see would be a blast to re-create it with some of the current Water and Snow stars. Bode vs. Chris P. perhaps??
Baller oldjeep Posted November 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 17, 2014 @Rawski Ted seems like the guy to do it. He starts at about 8 minutes
Baller Chef23 Posted November 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 17, 2014 They need a better cover. I would think Rossi, Parsons or Jamie B would be good at a combo event.
