Baller A_B Posted November 30, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 Camille Duvall-Hero's son has just passed away. He had just graduated from Amherst after playing baseball for them for four years. Let us all send some prayers out to her family in this sorrowful time. Baller A_B Posted November 30, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 From the school FB page: It is with the deepest sadness that we have been asked convey news of the death on Thanksgiving of Alexander Byron Hero, a member of the Class of 2010 and president of his class at The Hill. While we do not know details at this time, Mr. Hero did share that Alexander came home to New York City for the holiday to visit his parents, Byron and Camille, and sister Gabrielle, as well as friends. Mr. Hero has shared the following information with the School: "Alexander Byron Hero died suddenly on Thanksgiving Day. Born March 10, 1991, he was a 2010 graduate of The Hill School, where he was President of the School, winner of the Award for Excellence in Leadership, and captain of the varsity soccer and baseball teams. He graduated from Amherst College, where he majored in religion and was the starting center fielder on four record-setting varsity baseball teams. He is survived by his parents, Byron and Camille, and sister, Gabrielle. Alexander's life was defined by emotion. He was passionate about sports, fought for fairness and railed against injustice, cherished his many friends and teammates, and, most of all, was lovingly devoted to his father, mother, and sister. Funeral will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In his memory, contributions to the Alexander Hero Scholarship Fund at The Hill School, 717 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464 would be welcome." For those friends who may wish to send a note to the family, the Hero's address is 330 East 75th Street, Apt. 24A, NY NY 10021. The Hero family and Alexander's friends have our very deepest sympathy, and they are in our thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine how devastating it would be to lose a child.
