Baller bowty Posted December 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted December 17, 2014 For the Ballers down in the Orlando area, what is the water temperature like down there? I will be skiing at Swiss from the 24th-28th of this month am wondering if it's still pretty warm there.
Baller_ Wish Posted December 17, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted December 17, 2014 Water about 60 degrees give or take a couple. Day air temps in the 70s. Morning temps 40s-50s.
Baller bowty Posted December 17, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted December 17, 2014 @Wish thanks for the help! Would you recommend a wetsuit for skiing there? I've never had any experience with skiing in non summer weather.
Baller andjules Posted December 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted December 17, 2014 Depends how cold it is where you're coming from. When I hop off the plane—mid-winter—from Toronto, I'm a little cool but fine in shorts and a rashguard. The local florida folks are either not skiing or in full long-john wetsuits. Our sense of temperature is largely relative to our recent past, which is why (for people from Northern climates) 45º in the spring seems so much warmer than the 45º in the fall. Baller thager Posted December 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted December 17, 2014 I recommend a thin long suit from experience. Better to be too warm than to cold. Especially, if you get instruction and sit down at the ends for their input.
Baller Moskier3ev Posted December 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted December 17, 2014 I have a long sleeve shorty that I wear with those temps in TX. It is perfect. Jeff Lindsey SMRR
Baller_ Wish Posted December 17, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted December 17, 2014 Haha. That just depends on you. What would you where with the temps listed and how hard it is to bring extra to wear.
Baller skierjp Posted December 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted December 17, 2014 Winter Haven water temp is 67 and the air today was 75. I wear a rash guard till the water is 62 then I'm done.
Baller_ lpskier Posted December 17, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted December 17, 2014 I haven't skied since last week, but I haven't worn more than a heater top or a 1 mil Camero spring suit to this point in the season. I don't anticipate going to anything more than my O'Neil Gooru spring suit all winter. That baby is warm and dry. Lpskier

Baller bowty Posted December 18, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted December 18, 2014 I'm in Nebraska, so I'm definitely alright with the cold. If necessary I will probably just get a rash guard while there.
