supersonicus
After you set your fin and clamp it down, do you leave the set screws in or take them out and put them in the tool bag?
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted March 22, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted March 22, 2015 once the clamp is tight, I give them a little more tension to stay put

Baller A_B Posted March 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 23, 2015 They should not move much, as you are typically tightening the threads that hold them as you lock your fin in. I leave in and ever since adjustable fins came on the market, I have never lost an adjusting screw. Now I don't know if that says I tinker on my fin too much and never give them enough time to work their way out.. :)
Baller Chef23 Posted March 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 23, 2015 I have never heard of anyone removing the set screws.

Baller skialex Posted March 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 24, 2015 If you ride Goode, fin clamp is designed to hold the 2 adjusting screws in place, not the DFT one, you might loose that one. In any other clamp you might loose any of the 3 adjusting screws espesially when ski is new. The best thing to do is to use grease, the grease film ensure that the screws will stay in place and they will tern when you need to adjust your fin. supersonicus
Here's a neat little tool I've used for years for cycling. Its a little torque wrench fixed at 5Nm. Just the perfect torque for slalom fin clamps. It can be found at most bike shops.
