Baller ozski Posted June 30, 2015 Baller Posted June 30, 2015 The gauges on my 2005 196 are no longer clear, feels like they are just made from clear plastic and time / elements have cause them to become difficult to see through. Can they be pulled apart and the plastic replaced? Polished? Or do you need to replace... Looks better in the photo than it actually is, the smaller gauges are almost impossible to see through.
Baller Andre Posted June 30, 2015 Baller Posted June 30, 2015 I use car headlights polish on any transparent plastics and plexiglass when i restore pinball machines. Comes out way better looking. You would have to do both sides so removing is a must. Do it by hand with a microfibers cloth. Good luck! My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller rockdog Posted June 30, 2015 Baller Posted June 30, 2015 +1 for the headlight cleaner, get from Autobarn or Supercheap.
Baller thager Posted June 30, 2015 Baller Posted June 30, 2015 Actually, you have ZO so do you really have to see them?
Chris Taylor Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 wet sand the lens start with 600 grit, 1000 grit, 2000 grit, then spray with clear coat and you will never have this issue again. about $10 in material. works great on headlights also.
Baller ozski Posted July 1, 2015 Author Baller Posted July 1, 2015 We had some Meguiers polish handy so I tried that and it worked like a charm, has a very fine cutting compound. The results surprised me.
Baller Andre Posted July 2, 2015 Baller Posted July 2, 2015 ozski Pictures? My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller ozski Posted July 2, 2015 Author Baller Posted July 2, 2015 I don't think the pictures do it justice but the difference is significant.
