Baller rockdog Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 Unbelievable that people even have things like this tucked away in the garage..
Baller_ Wish Posted July 22, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted July 22, 2015 Wasn't that the yr MC had trouble even getting that boat tournament approved...?
Baller 6balls Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 Mighty lot of boat for $12K would last for many many years. @horton you wanted a project that could be 9/10ths of today for under $15K...pretty close here short of ZO. Drop a 'gazer and z-box on there and call it good.
Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 Got a buddy I ski with regularly that has a '95 with LT1 and Powerslot, one of my all time favorite boats to ski and drive. Can't imagine that thing isn't already gone at that price, especially with a tandem trailer?? @Wish you maybe thinking of the '98, the infamous DeathStar? Baller 6balls Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 Would vet carefully in person when it sounds too good to be true on craigslist...but appears could be the real deal.
Baller Ilivetoski Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 An engine just sitting and not being used for that long isn't good for an engine..
E_T
you could make that boat DBW very easily and have a zero off boat
Baller Rpc29 Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 @E_T how easily? I just bought the exact same boat 2 months ago.
Baller_ MISkier Posted July 22, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted July 22, 2015 Wow. This is the equivalent of a "barn find" for cars. My cousin has the same year/model with the same color scheme and no LT1. Knowing what he paid for his and the difference in hours and condition, this boat is an absolute steal. The 95-97 hull was excellent in skiing and tracking. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller MrJones Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 We skied behind a '96 MC from 2001-2007. Great boat. With modern power I would still be happy to have it. Of course it would take some work. My nephew has it now. Tower and all. After 2000 hours it would need more than a little TLC to look decent again. Baller oldjeep Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 Pretty boat, 57 hours in 20 years - I'd budget to replace every seal and piece of rubber in the engine at a minimum.
Baller 9400 Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 If it's going to be a Mastercraft, make damn sure sure it's not a 1998 model. You could die in that thing. The worst slalom boat ever...unless you get the one we had that all kinds of wings/bondo added by the factory people that made it mildly serviceable. Baller wtrskior Posted July 22, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2015 @TallSkinnyGuy that's a nautique 176. Cool and rare boats and it looks to be in great shape but not the best for tourney skiing
Baller PT Mike Posted July 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 23, 2015 @Ed_Obermeier @9400 don't say Deathstar or anything negative about that boat over on Team Talk. Owners of that vintage will defend that BS hull to the end.
Baller rodltg2 Posted July 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 23, 2015 Common the positive pressure tracking system was a " game changer " ! Lol
Baller JohnN Posted July 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 23, 2015 LT1/Powerslot is one of the all time best combinations for skiing. Come on @Horton, figure out how to add ZO to it cost effectively (we have a 97 LT1/Slot and love the boat, just not the lack of ZO).
E_T
ya @horton have some one figure that out...
