Baller bbruzzese Posted August 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2015 I know this topic has likely been beaten to death but everything I found was pretty old...thought there may be some new opinions now that there are many more white cuffs out there. Turns out I partially tore the "shelf" off the back of my black shell at a tourney yesterday...hopefully that explains a little of the erratic skiing..probably wishful thinking. Anyway, time to replace and considering trying the white...anyone else made the switch? Glad they did or wish they hadn't?
Baller DanE Posted August 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2015 Started on white, have the black now and I get a better offside turn. Onside suffered a little but I cut the cuff down and now truly feels like the black is better.
Baller webbdawg99 Posted August 23, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2015 I just switched to white. The reason is BC the rear block on my old shell was "flexing" too much and caused premature release. The block on the white cuff is much more solid and it obviously has the achilles strap. Performance wise and "feeling" wise, they feel exactly the same to me. I can't tell any difference.
Baller skialex Posted August 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2015 I don't no if it helps but I have heard the saying "once you go black you'll never go back" but I do not believe it referd to Reflex shells
Baller MrJones Posted August 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2015 When is doubt, use what the open skiers use. I see black boots with the cuffs cut down. Don't overthink it.

Baller drewski32 Posted August 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2015 I love the idea of the heel strap but I've heard that the white is softer.... I like the way my black cuff responds to input
Baller webbdawg99 Posted August 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2015 @drewski32 I have an older black shell and a new white cuff. I can't tell any difference in stiffness.
Baller BRY Posted August 25, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 25, 2015 I have both an older black shell and a newer white cuff and also can't tell any difference. I also run my upper buckle snug, not tight but no play either. Do like the heel strap, mine is set to definitely limit too much forward flex. Don't think I've ever felt it but like the idea of it.
