DGravelle
anyone have any experience with either of these boats I currently have the centurion find the wake to be a little on the hard side thinking of selling and going to the malibu but want to be sure it is worth while. Baller_ Wish Posted August 27, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted August 27, 2015 Bu = small wake.
Baller gregy Posted August 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2015 I ski regularly on that model Response LXI. It has little to no wake and very low spray.
Baller Ilivetoski Posted August 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2015 I own a 04 lxi. As far as wake and spray- honestly the 200 and CP are not much better. Extremely soft wake
Baller rodltg2 Posted August 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2015 years back the t5 was used at boardstock to pull the slalom event. centurion sponsored. did not hear good things about it, but to be fair the conditions were awful. I cant help but believe the rlxi will be much better and still offer roominess.

Baller skihard Posted August 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2015 I have a CP so might be a bit bias. That said friend owns one and another is a promo guy. Nice rides.
Baller Bulldog Posted August 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2015 LXI without question. "Do Better..."
Baller Zman Posted August 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 28, 2015 I have skied both. Hands down take the Bu. You will love the handling and wakes. CP today is a great ride, they have come a long way since 2006.

Baller Waternut Posted August 30, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2015 These won't tell you the whole story but worth a read. The Malibu standard engine was 320hp while the 270hp engine coming standard from Centurion sounds pretty pathetic for a boat roughly 10 years old. http://www.waterskimag.com/boat-reviews/2004/12/20/malibu-2005-response-lxi/ http://www.waterskimag.com/boat-reviews/2006/12/13/centurion-boats-2007-t5/ Slightly off-topic but I was in a similar situation a couple months ago. There was a 2003 Centurion that looked to be in incredible condition and a 2000 Malibu Response LX. There was sooo little information about the Centurions before the Carbon Pro came out. My assumption was; no knowledge from the die hard skiers doesn't mean it's a bad boat but it does probably mean that it's not an awesome boat. Meanwhile, everyone seemed to love the Malibu's so that made my decision easy and I couldn't be happier with the BU.
skibumm
No question the Bu. I am even biased owning an older centurion. I looked at the T5 when it came out and it was not even close to mine in skiing and the Bu is a bit better than mine is.
