Baller Waternut Posted September 14, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2015 Just stumbled on them. Looks to be nearly identical to the standard foam boat guide buoys selling for around $20 each. Granted they are 5"x11" instead of 6"x14" but might be worth it to someone. http://www.amazon.com/Deep-Water-Float-Yellow-5x11-Inch/dp/B00I0S636E/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8
Baller Edbrazil Posted September 14, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2015 Buoy size is legal, but you can get 6 x 14's from: www.skiertoskier.com in quantities of 10 for under $13. each.
Baller LeonL Posted September 14, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2015 I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again, Polyform S-1 is the only to go. IF you have a private site. Maybe even if public. I found some on eBay for $19. Discountmarinesupplies.com has white ones for $14.34. I know, white. But at $14 live with them if you don't have tournaments. They last forever if you don't prop 'em. I've got some that I've had for 18 years. That sure beats any foam buoy life.
Baller Edbrazil Posted September 14, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2015 At either Skiertoskier or Wallyskier, the Polyform S1 buoys are about $16.50 each. Vs. the foam ones, they can't take prop cuts, but you would have to be a total spazz driver to actually run over a boatgate with an inboard ski boat. Baller aupatking Posted September 14, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2015 Guys, I can get buoys like these for under $8. I'll measure them when I fly in Friday, but we use them on public water and have been super happy with them. I've paid $19 before, and got no better results than what I'm finding with these. They are buoy only. Sorry, you have to supply your own nail
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted September 14, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2015 Use a large plastic washer on the top so you can run your bungee cord all the way through. Just sold 20 of these large ones on here last week for $125.
Baller Waternut Posted September 14, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 14, 2015 Just for the record as I think people are glossing over it....these are $8 ea with shipping because they come in a pack of 2 and have free shipping. I'm not saying they are the best but we can't all get deals like what @Ed_Johnson just sold but this is pretty freaking close.
GroovyGrant
If you're using a floating course, those smaller buoys might provide a more even level of floatation when paired with turn buoys that are a third filled with water. The big spongex are a little too much flotation and take some adjustment.
Baller Drago Posted September 15, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 15, 2015 @Edbrazil of course none of us, but there are numerous total spazz drivers out there
