Baller rfa Posted September 26, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2015 I have a 2013 197 with the 5.7 ILMOR engine. About 240 hours (bought it with 210 hrs). 170 degree thermostat installed at around 180 hours. temperature gauge seems to fluctuate between as low as 130 to about 165. Is this normal? does it suggest that the thermostat stays open too long? Or a bad gauge or sensor? I'm glad it's not overheating but running too cool not good either. Any input from IlMOR owners much appreciated.
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted September 30, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted September 30, 2015 @rfa - how's the impeller ?
Baller rfa Posted September 30, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 30, 2015 Thank you for your reply! Impeller is pretty new (~50 hours) but I have not looked at it yet. I'm in MA and boat will come out of the water soon, so i will check. i think a bad impeller would have the opposite effect ...overheat at idle. a friend of mine just told me in his 2013 ILMOR they relocated the temperature sensor
