getting wide

a couple of years ago someone told me how you can mark your boat with tape so that when free skiing you can make sure you are getting as wide before your turn as if you were skiing the course, naturally I have since forgotten this marking method can anyone help with this?

Tape and trigonometry.

Rhere will e different marks per line lenght.

 

Or.. There is a product called flag slalom.

Similar thing. Conneted to a clock it will give you a beep when you are supposed to be at the boie.

thanks guys I seem to vaguely remember something about a empty parking lot and a pylon but with Mark_Matis method I can just work it out in my garage
