Water Ski Tournament + Poker Game = FUN

By now I assume everyone knows how the BallOfSpray Cash Prize works. It is really just a “Water Ski Tournament + Poker Game”. You do not need me to do this kind of thing. My neighbor BWB does a super fun thing at tournaments that is the same idea but on a smaller scale.

 

Under the BWB rules everyone’s handicap is their first round (in a 3 round event). Everyone throws in $5 and the skier who improves on their first round the most gets the pot.

 

Last weekend @Colebrah did not want to pay into the pot so @Boat030 put in $5 for him and won $140 when @Colebrah busted out a HUGE 4.5 at 39.

 

Notes: If you totally screw up your first round your handicap becomes your USAWS average -3 balls (The "Johnny Bako Rule")

I always cracks me up at Centurion BallOfSpray Cash Prizes event how some skiers look at me like I just invented fire. It is really pretty basic. Normal tournaments SUCK.

 

Please please please next time you plan a tournament consider some alternate format. It does not need to be about a lot of money or any money. It for sure does not need to be my format. Just mix things up a little.
