Baller Stevie Boy Posted December 19, 2016 Baller Posted December 19, 2016 Is there any boat path alignment system being evaluated or in development or has the idea of such a system been shelved, I know there were people looking at it some time ago ?
Baller_ lpskier Posted December 20, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 20, 2016 SplashEye is very cool. I love the program and you can learn a ton from it. If your goal is just to stay in the center, BullsEye Boat Sights work well too and are about $3962.00 less. Plus tax! Lpskier
Administrators Horton Posted December 20, 2016 Administrators Posted December 20, 2016 @Roger that is cool stuff. @Splasheye is always up to something cool. I do know that Will Bush has played with some tech that lets the driver see his end course in REAL TIME as well as autopilot steering. There are a few technologies brewing out there but it is a matter of making them economical. Baller 6balls Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 Amazing in that splasheye clip how much things can move around and that's with a Nautique 200 which tracks great.
Baller Roger Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 @6balls - The amount the boat (is allowed) to move around varies by driver. IMO that particular clip is too much. Even though the pylon never leaves the boundaries of In Tolerance, I believe that had this been a record setting pass, it would probably have been denied due to cumulative deviation in favor of the skier. It would be interesting to have Jerry run this pass through his software and see the result.
Baller Splasheye Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 @roger for records the cumulative deviation is calculated when the skier is at the buoy. In between doesn't count. The pass in the video is an almost perfect pass from that respect. If I remember correctly that pass was 7cm cumulative deviation (tolerance for full course is 49)
Administrators Horton Posted December 20, 2016 Administrators Posted December 20, 2016 7cm? I am lucky is i get the boat within 7cm anywhere in a pass. Baller jcamp Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 that has everyone up in arms on that other thread in the forum. Very revealing ...
Baller klindy Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 @jcamp No it's not...that the Dr. Jim video from a few years ago.....
Baller_ MISkier Posted December 20, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 20, 2016 @jcamp, that made me laugh. Are the boat guides and buoys even attached to anything or are they just free floating? The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller Chad_Scott Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 It is also plotted at a point I think 4 meters in front of the buoy I am not positive of the distance but there is a point in front of the buoy and at the buoy for world records
Baller Bill22 Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 @OB1 where can I get a set of those?
Baller Roger Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 @Splasheye - Thanks, I have not seen the software (that Jerry uses) and did not know that.
Baller Roger Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 @jcamp - LOL, I think the guy did a great job!
Baller Razorskier1 Posted December 21, 2016 Baller Posted December 21, 2016 Bill Sowers is a great guy -- used to be a Minnesotan!
