Baller jjackkrash Posted January 8, 2017 Baller Share Posted January 8, 2017 The approved props for the 2016 H5 Nautique 200's are the AC 654* 4 12.5 x 15 Nibral AC 1458 3 13 x 14 Nibral. I am usually at or near sea level and am wondering which prop people are running on their 200s with the H5. I would also like RPM data points from anyone willing to post, i.e., how many RPMs for each prop at 34, 36, and WFO. Also, is anyone running a different-than-approved prop? Thanks in advance. Baller dbutcher Posted January 8, 2017 Baller Share Posted January 8, 2017 If I had a 200 with the H5 engine, I would try an Acme 422. It's 4 blade, 12.5 x 15.5, .105 cup. It appears to be the same prop as the 654 except that it has .5" more pitch. It will reduce RPM's a little bit. I have a 2015 SN200 with the 5.7L engine. I have tried the 422 on it. It works but is not as peppy as the 654. The H5 has more HP and torque than the 5.7L so I'm guessing the 422 would be fine on it. Of course the 422 is not approved for tournament use. The 2017 approved props for the 200 are the same as 2016.
Baller skierjp Posted January 8, 2017 Baller Share Posted January 8, 2017 Don't mess with perfection, run the
Baller jjackkrash Posted January 9, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted January 9, 2017 I pulled the manual off of PlanetNautique, and it lists "max cruising RPM" as 4k rpm. http://www.planetnautique.com/CorrectCraftManuals/2016/PCMDI-16.pdf In the ZO Easter Egg thread, @Gloersen reported his boat runs 3719 to 3910 pulling 34 MPH skiers. So that sounds about right from an efficiency standpoint.
Baller Gloersen Posted January 9, 2017 Baller Share Posted January 9, 2017 I'd stick with the 654. Rpms are low enough with plenty of torque. The 5.3 DI tops out at 47.5 mph Can't recite the rpm range for various speeds. It is substantially less rpm then the 4-1868 on 5.7 SN 200's. Not sure how that 3-blade would perform. But the 654 has no issues for short set-ups at 58k/heavy skiers; the SN 200/5.3L-DI/654 is a solid match;
