Baller bigskieridaho Posted February 24, 2017 Baller Share Posted February 24, 2017 So I thought was pretty cool. Driving down the road in Anchorage while I was there for work and saw a truck with a Centurion Boats sticker, waterskier sticker, SKION1 on the the plate, and a Connelly plate frame. Even in AK they ski, but where?
Baller Cent Posted February 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2017 Quite a few lakes near Anchorage. At least 4 with slalom courses.
Baller eleeski Posted February 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2017 Paging @AKShortline . Brent might not get back to you for a while. Something is wrong with the water during the winter up there. Eric

Baller JC McCavit Posted March 3, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 3, 2017 There are more tournament boats in Alaska than you would think. There are 8 on the lake I live on. I would guess 50 or more in the State including several 200s. There are at least five active slalom courses within a 30 mile radius of my house located on Wasilla Lake a short drive from Anchorage. Baller bigskieridaho Posted March 3, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted March 3, 2017 @JC McCavit That's awesome! Learn something new everyday. With all that water, I am glad there are so many ballers up there! Hopefully I can get a ski ride this summer and check it out.
Baller jetpilotg4 Posted March 3, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 3, 2017 So I would guess the added daylight hours in the summer makes up for the short ski season from the long winter
Baller JC McCavit Posted March 3, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 3, 2017 @jetpilotg4 - Yes, the long days help, but we have a pretty decent regular season. The ice goes out around the 1st of May and freezes over middle of October. The best thing about the long days is the water warms up pretty fast. @bigskieridaho - I think there are only 3 or 4 of us that are regular Ballers on this site that ski tournaments. Any Baller wanting a ski ride in the Anchorage area can PM me or @AKShortline or @AkBob.
