HO S2 or A3?

So I am looking at a couple skis to buy. These two are in my price range and sound awesome. Just not sure which one is the best to ski on. I weigh 200- ski at 34 into 28 off. Insight please guys! TW has an S2 he said he would sell me, or I can get a new old stock A3 Radioactive.

I much prefer the S2 to the A3. At 34 mph I would recommend the S2.

The S2 was the smoothest ski I have ever skied on. Very forgiving, you can ride a little tail heavy and get away with it but the one thing I would say is it wasn't as aggressive as some other skis I have rode. Never skied the A3.

I feel like saying A3 since that second generation was SUPER GOOD. Any chance you could post a video of you skiing? The two skis are quite different… Also, what sizes would you get of either?

The A3 is a 67" and the S2 is a 67.5

I skied the S2 for a season and tried an A3 - went straight up to my PB first set - so no crazy differences.

Think you'll find that 67.5 S2 is the size recommended for your weight whilst 67 A3 is on the edge = S2

@Deep11 I can get a 68" A3, but I heard those skis run big as far as feel.

The A3 is one of the smoothest turning skies I ever skied on, was comfortable on my first pass, This from a long time Kidder, KD and D3 skier. I hope this is their last name change

S2. The fact that it is from Terry and you might be able to get a lesson out of this is an added bonus, but even without that, S2.

I'd say if you can get your hands on a 68" A3, it would be a very good shape. Definitely not 67". 67.5" S2 should also work, but again. They are two very different skis.

How many ballers think the S2 with the speed skin was a considerable improvement? If I remember correctly that was the 2013 S2?

FYI, Speedskin was added to the S2 for the 2014 model year.

For me the A2 was the bomb. I struggled on the A3. It seems the S2's have better reviews based on what I am seeing in the above post. Good Luck

I might just give TW a call and have him bring it to the lake. Seems the consensus is for the S2.... Too hard of a decision when I really want to try the A3 also.

Could you get both and then sell the one you don't like as well? Might be some hassle factor but sounds like they ski so differently that it would be fun to try them side by side.

A3 for me, was faster. The S2 was smooth when I tried it but I always found myself skiing narrow, could not get the width I liked

@208skier wish I could do that. I also have my eye on a V Type. Wonder how that would compare?
