Baller Texas6 Posted August 6, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 6, 2017 657 Skiers and the first June increase in membership in 5 years. Awesome!

Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted August 7, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted August 7, 2017 From the chief! 670 entry's. Going to be a great nationals.
Baller JeffSurdej Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 AWAA is starting to see some encouraging numbers overall. Nationals up 100 skiers and 200 pulls. Midwest regionals up 25%. East up 18%. South central up 22%. West up a touch and south the same. 1000 guest members this year. We normally loose on average 500 members from Jan to July. This year -75. Still a long road to go but it's great to see it trending up. Thanks to everyone out there embracing some change and promoting our sport and ideas. Baller MattP Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 Based on my rough math that is over 120 more skiers than last year. Roughly 20K in Entry Fees if they are all single event skiers. I hope the host site is the one to benefit from this and does not all go to "administrate fees"
Baller MrJones Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 Might be able to invite a few more drivers.
Baller JeffSurdej Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 @MattP those fees are just a flat percentage of the entry. So the LOC will have great benefit from the extra entries.
Baller disland Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 any more detail on the night jump? who? is there prize money?
Baller MattP Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 @JeffSurdej thanks and noted. Looks to be around 1,231 pulls this year. 634 of those pulls did not ski in Nationals last year. 597 of the pulls are returning from last year. Baller MrJones Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 That is great news. Good to see positive numbers!
Baller JeffSurdej Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 @MattP half our pulls did not ski nationals last year? Seems high. How did you arrive at that stat?
Baller MattP Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 @JeffSurdej The Entry status on USAWS shows the previous years placement for each skier. If they did not ski there is no placement data.

Site looks good...and the whole SMRR Nieghborhood says thanks to all coming...Be sure and check out the local venders offering evening skier specials in San Marcos. Check the web site for details. Baller_ lpskier Posted August 8, 2017 Author Baller_ Share Posted August 8, 2017 Several hours driving west on 10 today pulling an Airstream with a Nautique sticker on the back window, and no one honked. Informal highway pole says I'm the only person from east of Texas going to Nationals. Lpskier
JGray
I was up there this weekend helping out. The rain hit as I pulled out of the gate early Monday morning. But the site looks great and the guys and gals out there are doing a great job getting it ready. Can't wait for kickoff tomorrow morning! My first nationals and m3 is first off the dock, should help keep the butterflies down.

JGray
@lpskier Yeap and they are checking for passports at registration. I think there is a trade agreement with Louisiana though so they get a pass.

Baller_ lpskier Posted August 9, 2017 Author Baller_ Share Posted August 9, 2017 @Chuck_Dickey Make sure you are checking registration status, then under "Type" select "Seeding." Select your age group and event. That is the running order in reverse, i.e., skier "1," the top seeded skier, skis last. Lpskier

Baller schroed Posted August 9, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2017 Anybody else trying to use the live scoring web page or app (waterskiresults.com)? It doesn't seem to be working for me. I was trying to check in on M3 slalom scores and it just comes back with another option to select the event after I hit submit.
Baller MattP Posted August 9, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2017 @schroed same issue here. I was having the same problem during regionals. Could be a slow server timing out before the request can be made due to a high number of requests today.

Baller T_C Posted August 9, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2017 @schroed got the same result. Try only hitting submit once and then wait and wait and wait it eventually loads. Whats up with the scores? Was it really windy?
Baller schroed Posted August 9, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2017 I think we finally killed it. I'm getting a "service temporarily unavailable" error now on the main URL. Anyone on site out there know what's going on in M3 slalom?

Baller schroed Posted August 9, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2017 Update on M3 slalom: Steve Grubbs told me he ran 4.5@38 and is sitting in 3rd place with 3 left to ski.
McNerney
I took a few looks as well and never got on. Good skiing for Grubbs, hopes he makes the podium. You can't let your kids have all the glory!
Baller schroed Posted August 9, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2017 Word on the street is that Barton Rachwal won with 2.5 @ 39. Jason Peckham got .5 @ 39 (not sure what place). Grubbs made the podium at 5th place. So, I think Paul Turner is off the podium with Surdej and Fizer on it somewhere.
