Baller RazorRoss3 Posted November 20, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 20, 2017 So coaching the UT waterski team we camped at the lake Saturday night into Sunday morning, drinking, Hammerslongin', camp fire, and so on. Come Sunday morning we wake up to 39 degree air and water in the mid 50's but the water was glass so we skied. We also had a Bald Eagle spectating so the Freedom level was high ;) Anyone else ski through some chill this weekend?
Baller skihacker Posted November 20, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 20, 2017 My last set was nov 1st, air was 45, water was 45, and it was raining, my wife said something about you guys are crazy.
Baller KRoundy Posted November 20, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 20, 2017 I skied November 10th and 11th before we pulled the boat. Air was in the 50's on Friday and in the lower 40's on Saturday, and the water was about 52. The lake was like glass on Friday. Simply amazing way to end the season and start on my winter workout program to ski more in 2018!
Baller RazorRoss3 Posted November 20, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted November 20, 2017 The brain freeze you get once the air gets sub 50's is brutal. I'm well on my way to skiing in every month of 2017 though so I won't be stopping yet, just need December to round out my calendar.
Baller WIRiverRat Posted November 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 22, 2017 Today may have been our last run in Wisconsin this year. Had to get the annual near thanksgiving run in. Air was 31 and water was 33F. I wore a hat that was frozen solid by the time I finished my quick run. Definitely a little cold with just a wet suit. Baller eleeski Posted November 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 22, 2017 Heat wave in Socal. Some think that it's nicer in the winter in the desert. With days like this, maybe. Eric

Baller Jmoski Posted November 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 22, 2017 I use the combination of air & water temps being over 100 (F) as a good yard stick for whether you will be comfortable with a quality wetsuit. Anything below that will be unpleasant. The sun being out makes a big difference as well given the black neoprene is like a solar sponge. Hoping for one last run on Friday in Mass. Baller RazorRoss3 Posted November 22, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted November 22, 2017 I think the sun in general helps. 50 and sunny vs 50 and cloudy are two very different 50's
