Baller ski603 Posted May 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted May 2, 2018 I have a 2016 Prostar with a "removable" platform, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it slides out of the brackets. I've removed the pins and the two bolts on the brackets, but it still doesn't want to slide out. Is there something I'm missing here or any tricks people have tried? I want to take it off and get a couple coats of teak oil on it before putting it in the water.
Baller oldjeep Posted May 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted May 2, 2018 Did you fold it down?
Baller ScottScott Posted May 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted May 2, 2018 I think its more of an easy fold down, but not really for easy removing. We fold to fit in garage. It takes a little giggling, it goes up then out and down. To remove you would probably have to remove some bolts. I haven't looked that close. Baller ski603 Posted May 2, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted May 2, 2018 I do have it folded down, I was looking to remove the whole thing from the boat to make it easier to clean/teak.
Baller Broussard Posted May 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted May 2, 2018 It can come off completely, but It's a PITA to get the it back on because of the plastic washer deals between the two meal brackets. Might want to just unscrew it from the brackets. .
dabeej20
It's a lot easier with 2 people. 2 of us put it back on last night on a '14. Sounds like you just have it down to those circular slide thingys. I'd maybe give it a good wiggle?
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted May 2, 2018 Baller_ Share Posted May 2, 2018 unscrew it from the brackets!
markchilcutt
Removed my 14 once! not designed to be easily removed and re installed. Installing it by myself was a PITA with the plastic spacers! I would unscrew the deck from the brackets as already suggested.
RLogan
It's not designed to be removed. Just folded down. You can remove it. I have. But be prepared for a little fiddling getting the spacers back in place as you reinsert the retaining pins.
