Baller DavidN Posted July 21, 2018 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2018 Hey ballers, I just upgraded my Reflex front plate with the new 840 Silvretta. As the shape of the new legs differ from my old setup, can someone in the know please confirm if I used the correct holes for mounting the release legs to the aluminum block? Thanks in advance! Baller LOTW Posted July 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2018 My experience is that as/when the toe of the boot wears and goes further forward under the front horseshoe, it creates space at the back. This causes play and the binding will actually prerelease. When this play is created, it is time to move to the forward hole to compensate. Baller DavidN Posted July 22, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted July 22, 2018 Thanks @LOTW! That is in line with what I read on the Reflex page... I just wasn’t so sure where to mount the legs of the new 840 release when using the older style boot. Until I found this picture on the Reflex site... Baller chris55 Posted July 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2018 @DavidN What is the difference between 750 and 840 ? Did you changeto have the newer version or any other reasons ? Thank's for your input.
Baller DavidN Posted July 22, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted July 22, 2018 My 750 release is at the end of its 3rd season. I had a few pre-releases lately, and it was obviously time to replace the inner parts. As the legs already started to rust and I didn’t feel comfortable opening everything up and taking it apart, to only change the spring, I just bought the new 840 release. I Iike the fact that it is stainless.
Baller Jmoski Posted July 24, 2018 Baller Share Posted July 24, 2018 @chris55 - in addition to the arms being stainless, they changed the shape to be more vertical to allow you to get your rear foot closer to the back of the front binding.
