Baller Orlando76 Posted April 6, 2019 Baller Posted April 6, 2019 What was your top end and hole shot? I test drove one for another party today. Seemed like secondary’s and/or timing not advancing right. What kind of numbers did you guys see? I honestly suspect very noticeable difference between the carb and GT40 according to the seat of my pants meter.
Baller jpattigr Posted April 8, 2019 Baller Posted April 8, 2019 There was 2 different Carb motors also, 240hp and the HO at 285hp. HO was carb and GT40 heads. I had a 240 hp and swapped out Heads and intake, fresh Carb rebuild and she ran awesome.
Baller Orlando76 Posted April 8, 2019 Author Baller Posted April 8, 2019 @jpattigr In 1997-2002? I was pretty certain the only carb motor from that era was 260hp which I failed to verify the heads. Year or two before that was the 240 vs 285.
Baller jpattigr Posted April 22, 2019 Baller Posted April 22, 2019 I had a 97 TSC1 bubble back and she had the 240hp motor in it. so at least in 97 that base motor was still offered. After that not sure.
Baller OSUwaterskier Posted April 23, 2019 Baller Posted April 23, 2019 I have a 99 TSC1 with the 285hp carb 351. Hole shot is great to me and settles nicely with Star Gazer on our average-length setup. Haven’t had her on a short setup. Top end is about 42-43 mph with a four-blade prop.
