Baller Bill22 Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 All combined my friends and I have ten ski boats (5-ZO, 3-PP, 2-no speed control). They range in years from an 87 MC to a ’19 Prostar and a ’19 Nautique. That means when I ski, many times my boat stays at home.
Baller jimski Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 1106 hrs on my 2011 200 Last year we used it 11 out of 12 months
Baller ScottScott Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 25-50% is a pretty wide range. I'm probably in the 50-75%.
Baller LeonL Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 When I ski, my ski partner and I switch out pretty much 50/
Baller_ MISkier Posted May 17, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted May 17, 2019 I answered the club boat option, though I don’t actually have any legal ownership of either of them (two clubs). I have a personal boat that I use on vacations or when the club boat hasn’t been delivered. But, most of the time, it’s a club boat. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears. Baller Orlando76 Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 Don’t even know why I bother having a boat. Just taking up space and I spend 40 hours a year knocking cobwebs out of it only to use it 5 hours a year. I absolutely love skiing it but nobody to ski it with because it’s PP. Baller bigskieridaho Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 I sometimes ski with someone else and their boat, but I like skiing behind mine and have my wife drive me. She knows how I like to be pulled. If there is two boats in the water already that’s usually when I ski behind another boat.
Baller Bdecker Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 Lucky to be in a great, closely held, group ownership situation. Not really a “club boat” as the ownership is not held by the club and has just 3 shares. I also own an 05 Mastercraft that definitely falls into the <25% bucket. Baller jhughes Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 We all have our own boats for public water use AND the club has its own boat. It's a little ridiculous but who wants to chance not having a boat at any time? Ha.
Baller 2Valve Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 all the guys in our club have their own boat but my fear is that after getting a pontoon this year, I'll use mine less and less for just driving around. :(
Baller Bill22 Posted May 17, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 @ScottScott yes, 25 to 75 is a wide range. I am mostly curious how many others are like me and fall in the less than 25% range.
Baller PatM Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 Usually skiing behind my boat or my ski partner's boat. When the season is in full swing we alternate boats so at that point it is 50-
Baller Bill22 Posted May 17, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 @Orlando76 I know the feeling when it comes to PP. My boat is PP and I am happy to ski any boat. Some of my friends are hardcore slalom and it's not likely they will ever ski a set behind my boat.
Baller keithh2oskier Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 I mainly ski behind mine. Sometimes one of the guys in the club will grab a quick ride behind mine and I will behind his if we know its just going to be each of us. We both have SN 196s that are blue so its basically no difference.
Baller WoodySkier Posted May 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2019 I use mine almost all the time because I am the only one our lake with ZO. Guys without ZO still like to try and convince themselves that PP or even no speed control is the same.
Baller fu_man Posted May 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 18, 2019 @2Valve Ski boat in the AM, pontoon in the PM. Nothing beats the ski boat/pontoon combo!
Baller rayn Posted May 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 18, 2019 Since I got my Prostar I very rarely ski behind anyone else’s boat on our public lake. I am spoiled.
Baller Chef23 Posted May 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 18, 2019 I usually ski with @rayn and we use his boat. Last few years my boat has been more like 10% of the time.
Baller gsm_peter Posted May 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 18, 2019 I voted club boat but no person owns the boar The club own it. There is no real need to own a boat in Sweden. I can be a guest skier at most clubs in Sweden with own gas. If I can leave work as early as 15 I can ski one set almost every evning.
Baller bishop8950 Posted May 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 18, 2019 I take 75% of my rides on a club boat. Of the other 25% it’s other people’s boat or mine.
