Baller entz Posted May 29, 2019 Baller Posted May 29, 2019 I just purchased this although it is very nice to drive the throttle seems quite stiff , any suggestions ?
Baller Kelvin Posted May 29, 2019 Baller Posted May 29, 2019 How many hours? Any idea if the previous owner replaced any of the cables and/or shifter? I replaced the cables and shifter on a 2010. The new setup is stiffer than my other boats, but still smooth. With ZO, it’s a non issue.
Baller entz Posted May 30, 2019 Author Baller Posted May 30, 2019 Thanks Kelvin , Im not sure if it was replaces but your rite with the ZO not a big deal maybe just have to get used to it ?
Baller BraceMaker Posted May 30, 2019 Baller Posted May 30, 2019 Most throttles have some sort of friction adjustment once they went TBW. The throw from neutral to gear being stuff can be shifted cable but there forwards is all friction.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted May 30, 2019 Baller_ Posted May 30, 2019 Teleflex Morse cam style controls have a little brass follower that can become dry and wear/distort. This not an uncommon problem with this unit. Sadly I know of no replacement brass ferrule or replacement part short of replacing the whole unit. I have turned a few replacement parts in the past on a small lathe but currently have no extras nor the lathe to do so..
Baller BraceMaker Posted May 30, 2019 Baller Posted May 30, 2019 @Jody_Seal is there much demand for that part? I have a hobby CNC lathe and could make a run of them if there was enough market.
