Baller Luzz Posted December 15, 2021 Author Baller Share Posted December 15, 2021 Welcome back to The Water Ski Podcast for Episode 76, this time with Nicholas Benatti! Matteo and Nicholas started their ski journey together pretty much from day 1. Arguably, they know everything about each other as skier and friends. Yet, there is always something novel or interesting to (re)discover through a conversation in front of microphones. In this first part, Nicholas goes through his tricks journey, which started early but really took off after a very significant event at the Open Nationals in 2009. Since then, the ascendance to significant podiums across Under 21 Europeans, World Games, Pro Tournaments, which culminated with breaking a 22-year-standing National Trick Record with 11250. Matteo and Nicholas dig deep through this one, and what emerges is the image of a humble and dedicated athlete who, by all means, has yet to express his full potential. Baller Luzz Posted January 30, 2022 Author Baller Share Posted January 30, 2022 Welcome back to The Water Ski Podcast for this fun Saturday episode. Episode 78 is a rapid fire question session with Dorien Llewellyn and Joel Poland. Baller Mastercrafter Posted February 2, 2022 Baller Share Posted February 2, 2022 I really enjoyed the Joel Poland podcasts and listening to what drives him and how he thinks. He's super talented but can come off as cocky on social media, but when it comes down to it, he's a seriously dedicated athlete that's in it to win it. He's more dedicated to the sport in his early-20's than most of us are dedicated to anything, at any age. Pretty cool. Definitely admirable. Thanks for doing these podcasts, Luzz! Baller Luzz Posted February 3, 2022 Author Baller Share Posted February 3, 2022 @Mastercrafter Fully agreed. He's also 12 years younger than me, so I didn't really know him before the interview besides some short conversations at tournaments and other occasions. Getting to really know people is most definitely one of the things I love about doing this podcast :) Ski coach at Jolly Ski, Organizer of the San Gervasio Pro Am (2023 Promo and others), Co-Organizer of the Jolly Clinics. Akin to past guests of the show, JT's involvement in the sport of water skiing goes beyond his competitive side. In this second part, JT covers what it is like to experience his ski school and how it runs, including lessons he learned from his father Jack. He also covers in length the history and people that got him passionate about tech controlling, and the project of installing slalom courses around the world. Matteo also asked about Edge Bindings that JT created, including some of the motives to embark in that project. This is a really fun conversation, full of stories shared between two friends. Baller morfoot Posted January 6, 2023 Baller Share Posted January 6, 2023 Matteo, been playing A LOT of your Podcasts here as of late at work and on the ride home from work as it's an hour commute. Been a fan of the sport for a long time and have just started getting into course skiing the last two years as I moved to a lake and finally have access to one. A masters regular attendee since the 90's so I'm very familiar with the big names and legends of the sport. I just want to publicly thank you for doing these podcasts for us to listen to. I've enjoyed listening to them all and appreciate the time and effort you've taken to grow the sport we all love. I've learned from the many tournaments I've attended as a spectator that the waterskiing community is like no other. Whether it be a professional skier, boat driver, organizer, coach, or watersports president; they are ALL very approachable, friendly and humbling. It's an awesome sport to be involved in. Keep doing what you're doing to grow the sport. The guys I ski with are doing our part by trying to get the locals to put down the wakesurfer and pick up a slalom. We swervers appreciate it!

Baller Garn Posted January 6, 2023 Baller Share Posted January 6, 2023 Hi Matteo, just thought I would tell you how much I really enjoyed your two episodes with Dave Wingerter. His passion for the sport and for HO really comes through in your interview with him. I really respect and love what he has done with HO since he has been with the company. He is mainly the reason that HO is the company that it currently is today. I don't know him personally, but he seems like a really nice guy and some that anyone could go talk to. I love how honest he is. He definitely seems committed to building the best ski possible and growing the sport of waterskiing. Anyway, thanks for that interview and your podcast.

Baller Luzz Posted May 4, 2023 Author Baller Share Posted May 4, 2023 (edited) Welcome to the one before last episode of The Water Ski Podcast. In this episode I announce the termination of this long standing project after EP100, which is scheduled to be released on May 18th, 2023. This episode was recorded in February and it will feature Fedele Luzzeri, my dad. Given that dad does not speak English, we recorded video and it will be subtitled. Audio and video will be also published on podcast, but some platform may not show the video. Therefore, the easiest way to watch this final episode is through the YouTube channel. I'd suggest to subscribe in order to receive the notifications of when the episode will premiere. As I said in the episode, this was a great experience. Thank you to all the listeners, guests, supporters, sponsors, and everyone whom I got to meet and talk to thanks to TWSP. Ski Hard!
